Our Products

Priority Banking

  • To enjoy the exclusive Priority Banking membership and all the benefits and privileges that come with it, simply maintain a minimum of B$100,000 in deposits and investments (referred to as Assets Under Management “AUM”) or take up B$400,000 in housing loans with us; or maintain a monthly credit of more than B$10,000 in your Payroll Account with us.
  • Customers who earn a gross salary/ income of minimum B$10,000 per month and credit their salary to us may receive complimentary Priority Banking membership for 12 months. In order to remain as a PB member the customer must then reach the minimum AUM threshold of B$100,000 at the end of the 12 months. In the event the customer does not reach the minimum AUM in the time stipulated, they will be transferred back to their original client segment with notification to them.

  • In these terms and conditions, “you” refers to you, your joint account holder or your authorized person who are Priority Banking (“PB”) customers of Standard Chartered Group. The additional services we provide to you as a Priority Banking customer are governed by these terms and conditions. Should there be any inconsistencies to these Terms & Conditions; the version on the website on www.sc.com/bn will prevail.
  • In these terms and conditions, “you” refers to you, your joint account holder or your authorised person who are Priority Banking customers of Standard Chartered Group. The additional services we provide to you as a Priority Banking customer are governed by these terms and conditions.
  1. You will need to meet our eligibility criteria to become a Priority Banking Customer. Your admission to Priority Banking membership is at our discretion. We may end your Priority Banking membership at any time with notification to you.
  2. Continuation of your Priority Banking relationship is subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. We will review your relationship with us on a regular basis and its continuation will be at our discretion The Bank reserves the right to end your PB membership at any time with prior notification to you in accordance with our usual practices.
  3. Your Priority Banking membership will remain valid from the date you become a Priority Banking member subject to you fulfilling the eligibility criteria and is at our discretion. We will notify you in the event that you fail to maintain a minimum of B$150,000 in deposits and investments.
  4. You may end your Priority Banking membership by giving us written notice.
  1. We may charge you fees for providing you with the Priority Banking services. The fees are set out in the tariff sheet under Priority Banking and may change from time to time. You can request for a copy of the Priority Banking tariff sheet or the specific charges for a particular Priority Banking service by contacting your Relationship Manager, via the Client Care Centre, or the Standard Chartered Bank website www.sc.com/bn.
  2. We may charge you fees for providing you with the Priority Banking services. The fees are set out in the Priority Banking tariff sheet and may change from time to time. You can request for a copy of the Priority Banking tariff sheet or the specific charges for a particular Priority Banking service by contacting your Relationship Manager, via phone banking, visiting our branches or from the Standard Chartered Bank website in your country.
  3. As a Priority Banking customer, you must meet our eligibility criteria. If you fail to meet our eligibility criteria, we may impose a fee which will be deducted from your account.
  • You consent to each member of the Standard Chartered Group, its officers, employees, agents and advisers disclosing information relating to you (including details of the accounts, products or any security) to our head office and any other member of the Standard Chartered Group in any jurisdiction and anyone we consider necessary to provide you with Priority Banking Services.
  • You consent to us contacting you at the address, email address and phone numbers you have provided to us, to give you information on other products and services that we, or our strategic partners, may offer.

Priority Banking services may not be available in some countries and are subject to local regulations. We may vary or withdraw the services at anytime. You can find out about the current services available to you by contacting your Relationship Manager, via the Client Care Centre, or visiting our branches or the Standard Chartered Bank website in your country.
We reserve the right not to provide you or cease to provide you with any Priority Banking services and its accompanying benefits (if any) if you are downgraded from the Priority Banking platform for any reasons whatsoever. We will attempt to notify you as soon as possible if this happens but we do not need to give you any reason for doing this.

  1. Household Recognition
    1. Household recognition allows for certain family members to be admitted to PB membership. PB membership under household recognition may be extended to your spouse and children or, in the instance that you are not married, to your parents, namely your father and mother.
    2. The admission of your family members’ to PB membership is subject to your family members holding eligible accounts with us and you notifying us of their accounts. We may end your family members’ Priority Banking membership at anytime with notification to you.
    3. Continuation of your family member’s Priority Banking relationship(s) is subject to your fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. We will review your relationship with us on a regular basis and its continuation will be at our discretion.
    4. As a Household Priority Banking member, you agree to be recognised as part of the main applicant’s household. Any of your accounts / join accounts balances would be included in determining whether the household meets the Priority Banking criteria.
    5. In the event that no household members meet the Priority Banking eligibility criteria, the Bank reserves the right to convert your banking relationship or the banking relationship of any or all of your household members who were accorded Priority Banking membership by us though our Household Recognition to Personal Banking relationship ( if any).
    6. As a primary customer, you may at any point in time give us in writing instructions to end the Household Recognition service which is extended to your family members.
    7. In the event you choose to voluntarily transfer out of the Priority Banking platform, we will not notify your household members.
    8. The Bank reserves the right to communicate with the household’s primary customer only.
    9. The admission of your family members, which includes your spouse and any children, to Priority Banking membership is subject to your family members holding eligible accounts with us and you notifying us of their accounts. We may end your family members’ Priority Banking membership at anytime with notification to you.
    10. The Priority Banking membership of your family members will be valid from the date you become a Priority Banking member. The renewal of Priority Banking membership of your family members is subject to you fulfilling the eligibility.
    11. Your family members who have been admitted to Priority Banking membership through household recognition will enjoy most of the benefits associated with Priority Banking services unless otherwise notified by us to you from time to time. Such Priority Banking services will not include pre-approved credit limits, differentiated mortgage policies and birthday treats.
  2. Global recognition
    1. The Global Recognition service may not available in all countries.
    2. The Global Recognition service is subject to you notifying us in writing of the details of the accounts you hold with us in each country.
  3. Preferential foreign currency exchange
    1. Preferential currency exchange rates are only available in countries where we offer preferential foreign currency exchange rates for local Priority Banking customers.
  4. Global Link
    1. The Global Link service is provided at our discretion subject to the terms in the Global Link Guidelines. Where this service is available the Global Link Guidelines will be made accessible through Standard Chartered Bank Online Banking.
  5. Free outward telegraphic transfers
    1. Commission fees and cable charges are waived for fund transfers between Standard Chartered accounts to and from the account holder’s own name. Any transfers to third-party accounts will be subjected to standard tariffs and charges.
  6. Free international fund transfers
    1. Free international fund transfers to another Standard Chartered Bank account. We will waive upfront handling commission and cable charges to another Standard Chartered Bank account. However, you will still need to pay the fees imposed by other banks and any other charges. We may charge you for international fund transfers of more than the local currency equivalent of US$100,000 per transaction.
  7. Emergency cash
    You may withdraw the local currency equivalent of up to US$5,000 daily when using the Emergency Cash service. The Emergency Cash service is subject to terms contained in the Emergency Cash application form.

    1. Terms and Conditions for collection at Standard Chartered Bank branches.
      1. As a customer of Standard Chartered PLC or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates (including each branch or representative office in any jurisdiction) (together “SCB”) who has enrolled in SCB’s special relationship services described as “Priority Banking” you may apply for SCB’s Priority Banking Emergency Cash Service (the “Service”) at an Application Bank subject to these terms and conditions (the “Application”).
      2. The amount of any cash which may be withdrawn pursuant to the Service will be determined by SCB in its sole discretion and is subject to change by SCB without notice from time to time.
      3. SCB will charge you a service charge for the provision of the Service in such amount as determined by SCB in its sole discretion from time to time (the “Service Charge”). The Service Charge will be debited from your Designated Account.
      4. When you use the Service any correspondent bank charges will be paid by you.
      5. You agree to provide such documents and to take such action as may be required by SCB for verification and validation purposes. In addition to this application form for the Service, you agree to complete and execute any other documents required by SCB.
      6. All Applications are subject to the approval of SCB and SCB is entitled to reject any Application in its sole discretion without giving any reason. SCB is not obliged under any circumstances to process any Application which is submitted to it outside its normal banking business hours in the country in which the Application Bank is situated.
      7. If the Application is approved by SCB then an amount equivalent to the amount of cash applied for by you pursuant to the Service (the “Emergency Cash Amount”) will be debited from your Designated Account at such time as SCB may determine in its sole discretion.
      8. Any Emergency Cash Amount will be paid to you in the currency of the country in which the Application Bank is located or such other currency as SCB may determine in its sole discretion.
      9. If the amount held in your Designated Account is held in a currency other than the currency in which the Emergency Cash Amount is be paid to you pursuant to the Service then SCB will convert the amount of the Emergency Cash Amount and the Service Charge into the currency of the amount held in your Designated Account at such time as SCB may determine in its sole discretion and at a rate of exchange which SCB reasonably considers appropriate in its sole discretion before debiting your Designated Account.
      10. Unless a law prohibits SCB from excluding or limiting its liability, SCB will not be liable for any loss, damage, claims, liability, costs (including legal costs) charges and expenses you incur in connection with the Service, howsoever caused and whether or not reasonably foreseeable except direct loss due to fraud or wilful default by SCB.
      11. Nothing in these terms and conditions will affect or limit the rights of SCB under all other SCB’s terms, conditions and/or rules (the “Banking Agreement”) from time to time applicable to your Designated Account and/or governing the relationship between SCB and you. You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all marketing materials relating to the Service. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the Banking Agreement, these terms and conditions will prevail insofar as they relate to the Service.
      12. SCB is entitled to modify, suspend or terminate the Service and amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice to you. You will not hold SCB liable for any such modification, suspension, termination or amendment and SCB will not be required to furnish reasons for such modification, suspension, termination or amendment.
      13. These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country in which your Designated Account is held and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the country in which your Designated Account is held.
      14. Unless the laws of the Country in which your Designated Account is held require otherwise, in the event of any inconsistency between the English language and other language versions of these terms and conditions, the English language version will prevail.
    2. Terms and Conditions for collection at Travelex outlets.
      1. As a Priority Banking customer of Standard Chartered Bank or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates (including each branch or representative office in any country) (“SCB”) holding a current or saving account with SCB, you may request for Priority Banking Emergency Cash Service (“Emergency Cash”) by calling your SCB Relationship Contact Centre (“RCC”). Today, Emergency Cash is only available for Priority Banking customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Hong Kong, China, Korea, India, and United Arab Emirates.
      2. You may use the RCC to request for Emergency Cash in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Germany, and Holland. In other countries where SCB has branches offering Emergency Cash, you can only request for Emergency Cash at a SCB branch.
      3. SCB will determine the amount of cash which you may withdraw (per transaction) from your current or saving account as Emergency Cash, this could be changed by SCB from time to time.
      4. SCB may charge you a service fee for providing the Emergency Cash. If a service fee is payable, the RCC will inform you of the amount to be paid.
      5. To make a request for Emergency Cash, you must provide the RCC with correct answers to security questions the RCC will ask you in order to verify your identity. If the RCC is unable to verify your identity, you will not be able to access Emergency Cash.
      6. You will need to tell the RCC:
        • The account from which you wish the Emergency Cash to be debited (“Designated Account”). If you are a customer of SCB China or SCB Philippines, note that you can only debit your foreign currency account.
        • How much Emergency Cash you wish to withdraw in the currency of the Designated Account (“Emergency Cash Account”). The RCC will let you have an indicative amount of what the Emergency Cash Amount will be in Local Currency (that is, the currency of the country from which you will pick up the Emergency Cash).
      7. Where you have used the RCC to request for Emergency Cash, you can pick up the Emergency Cash from any Travelex outlet in the country where you call the RCC from. You will need to produce some form of photograph identification (for example, passport) so that Travelex can verify your identity. You will also need to sign Travelex’s form acknowledging that you have received the Emergency Cash.
      8. Emergency Cash will be paid out to you by Travelex in the Local Currency.
      9. By calling the RCC to request for Emergency Cash, you:
        • agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
        • confirm that you are the account holder of the Designated Account;
        • represent that the information you give to the RCC is true, complete and accurate and you authorize SCB and the RCC to make such enquires as it considers necessary to verify such information;
        • declare that you will comply with all exchange control laws issued by any relevant authority (as they apply to you from time to time);
        • agree that SCB and the RCC may disclose your account information and personal data to Travelex and such other persons in order to provide you with Emergency Cash; and
        • (if you are a customer of SCB India) declare that the total amount of foreign exchange purchased from or remitted through all sources in India during this calendar year including this application for Emergency Cash is within the annual limit prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India.
      10. All requests for Emergency Cash are subject to the approval of SCB and SCB is entitled to reject any request in its sole discretion without giving you any reason. The RCC is not obliged under any circumstances to process any request for Emergency Cash made outside its normal banking business hours. If the request for Emergency Cash is approved by SCB, the Emergency Cash Amount plus any service fee will be debited from your Designated Account at such time as SCB may determine.
      11. Unless a law prohibits SCB from excluding or limiting its liability, SCB will not be liable for any loss, damage, claims, liability, costs (including legal costs) charges and expenses you incur in connection with your request for Emergency Cash, howsoever caused and whether or not reasonably foreseeable except direct loss due to fraud or wilful default by SCB or Travelex.
      12. Nothing in these terms and conditions will affect or limit the rights of SCB under all other SCB’s terms, conditions and/or rules (the “Banking Agreement”) from time to time applicable to your Designated Account and/or governing the relationship between SCB and you. You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all marketing materials relating to the Emergency Cash. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the Banking Agreement and the marketing materials, these terms and conditions will prevail insofar as they relate to Emergency Cash.
      13. SCB is entitled to modify, suspend or terminate the availability of Emergency Cash and amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice to you. You will not hold SCB liable for any such modification, suspension, termination or amendment and SCB will not be required to furnish reasons for such modification, suspension, termination or amendment.
      14. These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country in which your Designated Account is held and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
      15. Unless the laws of the country in which your Designated Account is held require otherwise, in the event of any inconsistency between the English language and other language versions of these terms and conditions, the English language version will prevail.
  8. Services provided by third parties
    • From time to time we may introduce you to other Priority Banking privileges and service provided by third parties. Any services provided by third parties are subject to their terms and conditions and we will not be liable for any loss you incur in connection with such services.
