In 2022, amid the challenges of the pandemic, Neeraj made a bold move, relocating from India to Hong Kong to take on the role of Head of the Trade Client Service team.

Despite the stringent travel restrictions during the pandemic, Neeraj commends the HR and mobility teams for their exceptional support.

“While it was difficult, I appreciate our HR and mobility team for handling the transition in the best possible way. The mobility team was super helpful and professional which provided all the support in managing my cross-border move,” reflects Neeraj.

In Hong Kong, a vibrant and globally connected financial hub, Neeraj has found a new home for his career. He takes pride in contributing to initiatives led by the Hong Kong market.

“It’s rewarding to work in a market that is globally connected and provides the biggest business opportunities,” he says.

The move has granted Neeraj invaluable insights into international markets, enriching his professional experience.

“I am quite happy with my new role and the opportunity it has provided me, both in the Bank and to experience a life outside my home country,” he explains.

“This has surely given me growth in terms of having experience in the biggest trade market for Standard Chartered,” says Neeraj. Working with more colleagues from different cultures has also improved his people management skills, he adds.

“I’ve seen growth both personally and professionally with this move.”
