For more than 170 years, we’ve been providing world-class financing, investment, treasury and strategic advisory services to our clients. We’ve supported their growth, where and when it matters most. We’re the preferred banking partner for 20,000 clients covering large corporates, financial institutions, governments, small and medium-sized enterprises and investors. And we provide solutions to clients in the world’s fastest-growing economies and most active trade corridors to facilitate global trade, and capital and investment flows for our clients around the world.

Roles in Financial Markets
Origination
As a Global Credit Markets Originator, you help our clients access the loan and bond markets with financing needs. You interact daily with senior transactors, relationship managers, product teams and deal teams to structure financing transactions. Your attention to detail helps you conduct market research, client and transaction due diligence, and prepare accurate and timely documents.
Sales
Financial Markets Sales delivers comprehensive financing, risk management and investment solutions to the Bank’s corporate, government, and institutional clients. As an integral member of our client engagement franchise, you ensure optimal client experience by proactively connecting with clients to develop and deepen their understanding of their differentiated business needs.
Traders
Our traders fulfil duties of market-making with key global and regional clients, and partner closely with sales, structuring, research and strategy to develop new products, strategies and trade ideas to deliver best-in-class solutions for our clients. Thrive on the fast-paced movements of the financial markets and complemented with a high awareness and understanding of the business strategy.
Algorithmic traders
eFX trading and Algorithmic Trading Quants are responsible for the growth of our FX market-making business across deliverable FX spot, non-deliverable FX forwards, precious metals and other electronically-tradable assets. They provide real-time oversight of the fully-automated high-frequency trading system, complemented by our quants team who develop new solutions .
Quants
Our developers work closely with traders and structurers to provide connectivity to the back office and operations function on diverse financial markets projects spanning applications to support individual teams, processes that handle millions of trades & thousands of users. Your computer science expertise will help deliver high performance software and quantitative analytics.
Structuring
Our structurers collaborate closely with our client coverage teams to design bespoke and optimal solutions to help the Bank’s clients hedge, invest and raise financing. Your aptitude to think out of the box, strong communication skills, creativity and resilience help conciliate the different objectives and constraints to deliver practical & viable solutions for all stakeholders.
Channel Managers
Our in-house economists and analysts produce high quality differentiated research and market our Global Research views to key global and regional clients and provide them with economic and market briefings to highlight risks and opportunities. You have a strong partnership with your sales and trading colleagues and display keen awareness and understanding of the wider business.
Our global footprint
Client Coverage owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. They work across the global network together with our product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and financial markets solutions for our clients. The solutions cover a wide range of products and services from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory.
Our clients include large corporations, governments, banks and investors headquartered, operating or investing in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. While our corporate banking clients consist of large multinational and local corporates, our commercial banking clients represent a large and important portion of the economies we serve and are potential future multinational corporates. Our strong and deep local presence across these markets enables us to facilitate trade, capital and investment flows, in and for our footprint.
A key theme that is increasingly driving our business globally is decarbonisation and energy transition. Our teams are taking a leading role in this area, and we’re working with many of our key clients on their transition plans. We’ve allocated $300bn of financing between now and 2030 to support this crucial area.

Jack, a Chinese native, first started with Standard Chartered in Nigeria, followed by China, and is now in India as a Relationship Manager at the China Desk.
Roles in Client Coverage
Relationship Manager
Fostering and maintaining strong relationships with our clients and being their first line of contact for banking services. With your combination of product, service and sales knowledge, you take care of our clients’ every need across all the markets where we are present, providing them with timely and relevant banking solutions that contribute to the success of their business.
Credit Analyst
As a Credit Analyst with deep knowledge of risk assessment and portfolio risk management, you provide independent credit review and analysis of the Bank’s clients to ensure their credit worthiness. Equally, you also assess the Bank’s risk appetite against market and economic conditions across the different markets and asset classes.
Industry Bankers
Industry Bankers have deep expertise and knowledge of a specific industry or sector, working closely with Relationship Managers and Product Managers to offer comprehensive coverage, as well as product and deal execution capabilities in the areas of mergers and acquisitions advisory, private equity placement, and acquisition financing.
Transaction Banking Sales Bankers
Experts in Cash Management, Trade Finance and Supply Chain products and services. In partnership with our Product Teams, you offer a comprehensive suite of transactional banking solutions to our clients, covering collection and payment, liquidity management, and supply chain financing among many others that support their domestic, regional and international business.

Sustainability
We’re moving capital to where it matters most by accelerating the deployment of Sustainable Finance across our markets. In 2021 alone, we increased our sustainable asset base by 138% to USD9.2 billion. We recently published targets for net zero emissions in our financed portfolio and will continue to engage with our clients on their transition plans.
