Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB)

What you’ll experience
Our roles within Client Coverage provide a comprehensive grounding in corporate and commercial banking. You’ll work directly with a diverse range of business and corporate customers alongside Corporate and Investment Bankers. You’ll be able to explore how your skills can adapt to different areas of our business, while developing new skills to help kick-start your career in CIB Client Coverage.

- Credit Analysis
- Relationship Management
- Client Management
About the programme
You’ll complete a 2 year programme including the Level 4 Investment Operations Specialist Apprenticeship with a focus on investment management, investment consulting, trading and reporting activities. Within the qualification you will complete the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) – Investment Operations Certificate, taking exams in UK Regs, Securities and an optional unit based on your interests and business need.
What you’ll gain
Broad knowledge of Client Coverage including trade facilitation and capital and investment flows in and for our footprint. You’ll also gain experience of working with some of the most influential local/global corporates and learn to guide our clients through our products and solutions.
What you’ll do
- Work with senior bankers on new business origination activities in partnership with key stakeholders
- Develop an understanding of industry trends and client analysis
- Project work including pitch books and sector research
What you need to apply?
We’re looking for candidates who have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs, grade five and above, including a six or higher in Maths and a five or higher in English Language. We love to hear about your wider interests and commitment to learning beyond the classroom.

- Logical and an interest in understanding and analysing data
Eligibility
The Government’s Apprenticeship funding requires candidates to have lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 consecutive years. If you’re enrolled at university or have gained a degree or higher qualification, you’re not eligible for our Apprenticeship Programmes, however we encourage you to apply for our Internships or Graduate opportunities.
