Being part of the family – Leena Al Hassan

Leena tells us why she enjoys working at Standard Chartered so much

Why did you choose Standard Chartered out of other employment options?

I wanted a bank that represents me. A bank that stands for the same things I stand for: women empowerment, giving back to the community and sustainability. Standard Chartered was perfect for me!

How does Standard Chartered’s culture help you grow and succeed?

The Bank’s supportive, inclusive and upbeat culture really made settling into my role as an International Graduate much easier that I thought it would be! Only 3 months into my role, I feel like I have grown both professionally and personally so much already.

I was lucky enough to experience the Emirati Women’s Day celebrations while interning with Standard Chartered last summer. Whilst being so junior, the Emiratisation team made sure to take care of me and made me feel like I was part of the family, so that was really special.

I am also a big fan (& member) of the Diversity & Inclusion Team – they work so hard to make everyone feel represented & seen.

Why do you think Standard Chartered is great place to work for Emiratis?

Your opinion matters here. Your voice is heard.

What advice/hints and tips, would you give to someone looking to work at Standard Chartered?

Be proactive – stay one step ahead. The Bank is dynamic and there’s a lot to learn here.

How should someone prepare for an interview with Standard Chartered?

Speak to people within the Bank and do your research ahead of your interview.
