One of the biggest challenges I faced when I started my job having a limited knowledge of finance. However, I've been fortunate to be part of an amazing team at Standard Chartered who has been incredibly supportive. They took the time to explain the logic behind our applications, helping me understand the financial aspect of my work. Their guidance and willingness to share their expertise have been priceless in helping me bridge the gap in my knowledge. With their support, I quickly grasped the intricacies of finance and became an effective contributor to our projects. It has been a rewarding experience to learn alongside such knowledgeable and supportive colleagues.
How would you describe the culture of your team?
The culture on my team at Standard Chartered is simply amazing. In my previous experience, I worked with a fully remote team, which limited our interactions. However, on this team, things are different. It's a highly cooperative environment where everyone supports one another. The Senior Developers have been incredibly patient and understanding, taking the time to guide me through the learning process. They have generously shared their knowledge and ensured that I grasp the ins and outs of our projects. The team's collaborative and inclusive approach creates a positive working environment where I feel valued and empowered as a female professional. I'm truly grateful to be part of a team that values cooperation and mentorship, allowing me to thrive and grow in my role.
Why did you choose a career in technology?
I've always been fascinated by problem-solving and the thrill of cracking puzzles. In college, I found myself drawn to aptitude questions and the challenge they presented.
