Li Ling – My ten years with Standard Chartered

Li Ling has been with Standard Chartered for 10 years, here she tells us all about her career journey so far....

I have been working at Standard Chartered Bank for more than ten years. I started with the bank as a Teller, then became a Cashier and then a Sales Advisor. I am actively rooted in the front-line service of the branch and pride myself on having a highly conscious sense of ownership, professional and high-quality customer service.  

My proudest moment was when on behalf of the bank I participated in the "National Banking Star Lobby Manager" organized by the China Banking Association which is held every two years. I won the title of "Star Lobby Manager" which was amazing! I had stood out from more than 1,000 people across the country and was awarded the title of "Charming Star" by the China Banking Association in 2014. This title was awarded to the member of the national banking industry which, only 50 people are awarded in China and I am the only elected Standard Chartered employee - a very big success for me!  

My philosophy is to continuously expand my business knowledge, work proactively and optimistically, establish the correct way of thinking, and learn to be grateful and manage stress.  Throughout my time at Standard Chartered I have won numerous awards, which I credit to all of the above. This recognition is the motivation to continue striving and working hard. 

In my spare time, I like traveling, and I have been to Britain, Turkey, Serbia and some countries in Southeast Asia and have enjoyed experiencing different cultures.  

Only by enjoying the process of life, life will become more fun and work will be a joy. If you believe In yourself and you work hard, nothing can stop you from moving forward!
