As India’s growth accelerates, the country’s increased focus on sustainability is unlocking opportunities for growth and innovation.

This is brought to life by the commercial success of environmental engineering service providers such as EFFWA Infra & Research Ltd, founded by our clients Dr Varsha Kamal and Mr Subash Kamal.

In India, access to water remains a pressing issue, with demand projected to be twice as much as the available supply by 2030.

EFFWA helps treat and recycle wastewater from factories and cities, providing industrial manufacturers with more sustainable water solutions.

“With rapid infrastructure growth, the government has limited water for industrial use, which means industries have to use more recycled or recovered water,” explains Dr Kamal.

Reusing treated wastewater can help meet growing demand across the economy while easing pressure on freshwater supplies, thus increasing the availability of clean water for communities.

EFFWA’s business model aligns with India’s wider sustainable development ambitions and prospects; the country ranks second highest for sustainable investment potential across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

EFFWA also supports local communities by providing free access to potable water for its employees and surrounding villages.

“Our social environment is everyone’s responsibility, and everything we do has always been shaped by this principle,” says Dr Kamal.

Beyond local impact, EFFWA is now setting its sights on global projects, including helping to upgrade the drinking water supply system in Cote d’Ivoire.

We’re supporting these growth plans with cross-border financing solutions, including Standby Letters of Credit. EFFWA is also a member of the Standard Chartered Women’s International Network (SC WIN).
