Helping diverse suppliers succeed
We’re supporting small businesses to thrive.

Lumjo Consultants in Uganda began working with Standard Chartered in 1995, helping our business to manage payments. Since then, we’ve continued to partner on payments and also to help Lumjo learn and grow the business. Since the partnership began, the small business has grown from the two founding members to eleven allowing them to develop innovative solutions for local and global banks.
“Working with Standard Chartered has been an integral part of our firm’s journey, playing a pivotal role in shaping our development and success. Over the years, the growth of the Bank has closely aligned with our own expansion, creating a mutually beneficial relationship. The Bank’s continual innovation and diversification of products and services has not only inspired, but also directly influenced, our own offerings. This synergy has enabled us to enhance our capabilities, meet evolving market demands, and establish a strong foothold in the industry. As a result, we have navigated challenges, seized opportunities, and driven impactful results, solidifying our position as a key player in the market.” – Lumumba Wambogo, Team Leader
Overcoming challenges
Lumjo admits it can be a challenge to work with a large business but working with the Bank directly has helped them improve.
“Meeting the Bank’s stringent compliance requirements has helped us understand the benefits of having standardised procedures to create products and delivering services. The result has been better products and services for our clients and a happier and more cohesive work force within the company.” – Lumumba Wambogo, Team Leader
Moving forward
Maintaining growth momentum is key to the success of Lumjo. By working closely with the Bank and building client and customer relationships, the firm fully expects to learn and grow.
“Empowering diverse suppliers isn’t just about inclusion – it’s about unlocking innovation, driving economic growth, and creating opportunities that ripple through communities. When we invest in their success, we invest in a stronger, more resilient future for all.” – John Mbazira, Head, Supply Chain Management, Uganda
