Play on: Train the Trainer
Learn about, watch and share our latest ‘Play On’ videos – a series of four short films highlighting our Train the Trainer curriculum.
As passionate advocates for lifting participation and unleashing the full potential of women and girls through the power of sport, we at Standard Chartered created the ‘Play On’ initiative in partnership with Liverpool Football Club and the LFC Foundation in 2023 after learning that twice as many girls than boys drop out of sport by the age of 14.
Part of this five-year initiative is ‘Play On: Train the Trainer’, where coaches from LFC’s Soccer Schools and Foundation deliver a three-day curriculum, consisting of classroom-based workshops and on-pitch learning, to local coaches in key Standard Chartered markets.
Following the successful Train the Trainer pilot in November 2023, where we trained 34 local coaches in Pretoria, South Africa, we delivered the training to 35 local coaches in Nairobi, Kenya in April this year. These coaches will go on to collectively train over 10,000 girls to the end of December 2024.
Discover the importance of person-centred training, hear about why girls should play sport, learn about the reasons girls stop playing sport, and find out how you can help them to play on in our Play On: Train the Trainer curriculum highlights reel.
Watch all four episodes on the ‘Play On’ digital hub and share them with girls, their parents, teachers, coaches and those passionate about keeping girls playing sport.
