Umberto Alessandria, Business Planning Manager, Foreign Exchange, Rates and Credit
London, UK
I work as part of the team that arranges Broker Day and have been the driving force within Financial Markets since 2012. It’s a very meaningful initiative that’s helped thousands of people, children and adults alike. It’s also a lot of hard work to pull together logistically, but the effort is more than worth it. Some sight loss can be relatively easy to restore and that can completely change a person’s life. It’s an incredible gift that I’m very proud to play a small role in.
“Seeing is Believing is a very meaningful initiative that’s helped thousands of people, children and adults alike.”
I originally joined the bank in Singapore where I was part of the Group Strategy team, which you could describe as our in-house consultancy. This role gave me a great viewpoint across the whole organisation., I then moved into Financial Markets where I worked as Business Planning Manager for Macro Trading and more recently in the Macro COO team in London.
I get huge satisfaction from my role, and I also really enjoy the social elements that working for an organisation of our size gives you. Back in Singapore I helped arrange several fundraising initiatives as president of the Running Club, so taking on the planning of Broker Day in the UK felt very natural to me. It’s great to focus on a day where we can give back.
