Standard Chartered appoints Paul Day as Group Head of Internal Audit
London/Singapore – Standard Chartered (the Group) today announced the appointment of Paul Day as Group Head of Internal Audit, subject to regulatory approval. Day, who has been the Chief Internal Auditor at Lloyds Bank Group from 2017, will be reporting to Phil Rivett, Chair of the Group Board Audit Committee and the Group CEO, Bill Winters. He will be based in the UK.
The Group announced earlier in November that Alison McFadyen, who has served as Group Head of Internal Audit since January 2016, will retire at the end of March 2022. Alison will remain with the Group in an advisory capacity for the rest of 2022 and continue as a member of the Standard Chartered Bank (UK) Board.
Rivett said: “Paul is a highly regarded auditor in financial services. With his extensive experience in working with boards, executive committees and regulators, Paul will be a great addition to the Group. He takes over from Alison who has laid solid foundations: a strong and diverse Audit leadership team that has prioritised and enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of our core audit work. We are grateful for Alison’s many contributions during her tenure with the Group.”
Day added: “I look forward to taking on a new global challenge at Standard Chartered, working with the Group Board Audit Committee, Standard Chartered management team and the Group Internal Audit team to help the Group on the next stage of its journey. I’m excited to be joining, and working with, such a diverse team.”
Subject to regulatory approval, Day will begin his new role effective 1 April 2022.
