Standard Chartered Private Bank appoints new Regional Head
Stephen Atkinson to lead the business in Europe, Middle East and Africa and take on global responsibility for Private Banking Referrals
Standard Chartered has appointed Stephen Atkinson as Regional Head, Private Banking, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Global Head, Private Banking Referrals, effective 3 September 2018. He takes over the regional responsibilities from Ian Gibson, who will be retiring from the Bank in September this year.
Steve brings to the Private Banking team 27 years of experience gained in Standard Chartered Bank across various leadership positions in the Corporate & Institutional Banking segment, as well as support functions including Risk, Finance and Corporate Affairs. He was most recently Chief of Staff to the Bank’s CEO, Bill Winters.
Steve will continue to be based in London and will report to Didier von Daeniken, Global Head, Private Banking & Wealth Management, as well as to Tracy Clarke in her capacity as Regional CEO, Europe and Americas. He will also work closely with Sunil Kaushal, Regional CEO, Africa and Middle East, to further drive business growth in the region. In addition to his regional responsibilities, Steve will be building on the momentum of the Bank’s referral programme in close partnership with Commercial, Corporate & Institutional Banking in this newly-created global referrals role.
