Adds over a dozen new hires in Singapore, Hong Kong and the UAE

Singapore – Standard Chartered Private Bank (“the Bank”) has announced the appointments of relationship managers and team leaders in its global team based across booking centres in Singapore, Hong Kong and the UAE.

Aligned with the ambition to grow the affluent business, the Bank has been building up the Private Bank in the last few years. Selective hiring of talent to boost the frontline teams continues to be critical in supporting high and ultra-high net worth (HNW and UHNW) clients’ needs.

In Singapore

Nicholas Cheng recently joined the Bank as Managing Director, Head of Private Markets Group, reporting to Foo Tian Ong, Regional Head, Private Banking, Southeast Asia, and Singapore Location Head. Nicholas is a seasoned finance professional who brings with him three decades of experience. He built his career in product origination and distribution in private and public markets in Asia working with leading Asian and European banks. Most recently, Nicholas has focused on strategic advisory to C-suite, and franchise building together with UHNW and institutional limited partnerships.

Hedi Dorai joined the Bank in June as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Vijai Krovvidi, Market Head, Private Banking, Global South Asian Clients. Hedi is a seasoned professional with over 20 years’ experience, having worked in leading private banks including most recently at Credit Suisse. He has a track record in investment advisory and portfolio management for HNW and UHNW clients in Asia, Middle East and Europe.

Au Soo Leng joined as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Team Lead Andy Chua. Soo Leng brings 30 years of experience in private banking and wealth management with HSBC, during which she honed her franchise building and client engagement skills focused on HNW and UHNW clients.

Angelina Wee joined as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Team Lead Gregory Wong. Most recently with UBS, Angelina developed her career in private banking over the last 20 years and is adept at collaborating with product and investment teams to service client needs.

Royston Ow Yong will join from UBS as Managing Director, Team Lead, reporting to Paterson Lau, Market Head, Private Banking, Indonesia. Royston is a seasoned private banker with 25 years of experience and a proven track record in achieving financial goals and building relationships with UHNW clients in Indonesia and Singapore.

Hong Shuqin and Gabriel Koh will join as Director, Relationship Manager and Associate Director, Relationship Manager, respectively, reporting to Paterson. Shuqin brings with her nearly 20 years of experience in client relationship management where she was most recently with Deutsche Bank. Gabriel has over 15 years of private banking experience, most of which were dedicated to sharpening his client advisory skills at UBS.

Sarah Lim will join from UBS as Head, Investment Advisory, reporting to Tian Ong. In this role, Sarah will lead the ASEAN and Greater China Investment Advisory team based in Singapore. She brings a wealth of investment advisory experience, having honed her career over the last 20 years advising clients in Asia on various financing solutions.

In Hong Kong

Jeffrey Song joined in June as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Team Lead Joseph Tam. Jeffrey brings 12 years of private banking experience to the Bank, having developed grown professionally during his tenure at Credit Suisse.

Charlene Mak rejoined the Bank in June from Bank of Singapore as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Team Lead Elina Yuen. Following her first stint with Standard Chartered Hong Kong, Charlene has gone on to establish herself as a seasoned relationship manager for Greater China clients in 30 years.

Helen Tong joined as Managing Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Kin Chan, Market Head, Private Banking, Hong Kong. Helen has 16 years of experience working in leading international banks in Hong Kong, most recently at Credit Suisse. She is adept in managing UHNW clients and has a proven track record in client retention during the global financial crisis.

Ramon Au Yeung joined from Pictet Wealth Management as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Senior Client Partner, Nenita Ang Gabaldon. Ramon brings over 35 years’ experience in wealth management and private banking, covering markets in Greater China and Philippines during his tenures in leading international financial institutions.

In the UAE

Alasdair Scarr rejoined the Bank in June from Citi as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Nash Mithani, Head, Private Banking, UAE, and Market Head, Global South Asian Clients. Alasdair is an accomplished private banking professional with over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Ahmad Anabtawi joined as Executive Director, Relationship Manager, reporting to Nash Mithani. Bringing with him over 25 years of banking experience in the Middle East, until recently with Mashreq Bank, Ahmad is a strong team leader with proven track record in building and leading strong teams and growing businesses.
