We are sponsoring the inaugural EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific programme 2015/16

23 Apr 2015

Standard Chartered Bank today announced its sponsorship of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific programme 2015/16. This is one of the four key components of the Bank’s broader sponsorship of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ programme, an annual awards programme that honours top entrepreneurs for their contributions to the economy and society.

Designed for outstanding women entrepreneurs who are seeking to scale and grow their businesses globally, the inaugural EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific programme builds on the success of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ programmes from other parts of the world. Through a customised year-long leadership programme, selected women entrepreneurs have the opportunity to network with and learn from other senior advisers and seasoned entrepreneurs to obtain the insights they need to scale their businesses and become global market leaders.

As part of the sponsorship, Standard Chartered Bank will be participating in the flagship EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific Conference held from 28 to 29 April 2015 in Singapore. The two-day event will bring together the Class of 2015 – 14 high-potential women entrepreneurs from across the region – to meet with a diverse and experienced community of successful entrepreneurs, board executives, industry leaders and professionals who work with entrepreneurs around the world. Anna Marrs, Group Head of Commercial and Private Banking Clients, Standard Chartered Bank, will be moderating the Mentors and Strategic Networking panel. Together with other prominent panellists Lynn Kraus, EY Oceania Markets Leader and Managing Partner, Sydney, Claire Chiang, Senior Vice President, Retail Operations, Banyan Tree Holding Tree Holdings Limited and Diane Foreman, Founder, Emerald Group, New Zealand, the session aims to deep dive into the value of and how to identify and source for mentors, illustrate the importance of networking and share best practice examples.

Anna Marrs said: “Women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs have been on the rise, particularly across our footprint of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Their contributions to job creation and economic growth are significant. It is an honour to have the opportunity to interact with this group of dynamic women entrepreneurs in Asia who have founded some of the region’s fastest-growing companies.”

Annette Kimmitt, Global Middle Market Leader and Executive Sponsor of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women™ Asia-Pacific programme, EY added: “We are delighted to have the support and partnership with Standard Chartered Bank. It is vital to the success of our programme that we share a common vision when it comes to supporting female entrepreneurs and helping them grow and scale internationally to become tomorrow’s global market leaders.”
