We’ve apppointed Cengiz Belentepe as Global Head of Commodities, Financial Markets
Standard Chartered is pleased to announce the appointment of Cengiz Belentepe as Global Head, Commodities, Financial Markets. Based in Singapore, Cengiz will report to Jonathan Paul, Global Head, Financial Markets.
Cengiz is a seasoned banking professional with over 20 years of broad commodities experience. He was most recently Global Head of Commodities at Barclays Non-Core Division with responsibility for the metals and energy businesses. Prior to that, he led the restructuring and turnaround of the base and precious metals trading business at Barclays globally. Cengiz previously founded and ran a quantitative CTA fund, and holds a Ph.D in Statistics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
In this role, Cengiz will be responsible for Standard Chartered’s Commodities business globally to provide commodities trading, hedging, financing and investment solutions to the Bank’s clients. The business has on-the-ground presence in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, London and New York.
