Foo Tian Ong – Regional head, Southeast Asia and Singapore location head, Private Banking, Standard Chartered Bank

Tian Ong joined Standard Chartered as the Private Bank’s Southeast Asia Regional Head and Singapore Location Head, in December 2023.
He is a veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. Tian Ong started his banking career with BNP Paribas as a Deputy Manager in 1983 and was the representative to a Thai financial institution joint venture. He held various leadership roles across International Financial institutions such as Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Morgan Grenfell Securities Ltd, Bangkok, Merrill Lynch, Bangkok, RBH Securities and UBS AG.

Manpreet Gill – Chief Investment Officer Africa, Middle-East and Europe

Manpreet Gill is Chief Investment Officer for the Africa, Middle-East and Europe (AMEE) region and heads a team specialising in the Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) asset classes. He is a key member of the Bank’s Group Investment Committee and an advisor to the Discretionary Portfolio Management division.
Manpreet has close to two decades of financial markets experience across asset classes. His previous roles have included Asia Strategist at Barclays Wealth in Singapore and G10 FX Strategist at ICICI Bank in India.

David M. Rubenstein – Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of The Carlyle Group

David M. Rubenstein is Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of The Carlyle Group, one of the world’s largest and most successful private investment firms.
Mr. Rubenstein is Chairman of the Boards of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Gallery of Art, the Economic Club of Washington, and the University of Chicago; a Trustee of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Institute for Advanced Study, the National Constitution Center, the Brookings Institution, and the World Economic Forum; and a Director of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, among other board seats.
Steve Brice – Global Chief Investment Officer

Steve Brice is the Bank’s Group Chief Investment Officer and has over 25 years of financial markets experience in senior positions. He leads a team of more than 25 investment professionals and chairs the Bank’s Global Investment Committee, which is responsible for forming the cross-asset investment views for the Private Bank and Retail segments. He is also responsible for the management of the bank’s CIO Flagship portfolios.
Bridging the Gap – Private versus Public Markets
Wellington – Connor Fitzgerald – Senior Managing Director, Partner, and Fixed Income Portfolio Manager

As a portfolio manager, Connor works on the Investment Grade Credit Team where he helps manage risk across the different credit-specific mandates. Additionally, he helps to generate new investment ideas, as well as assist in formulating strategy with respect to the investment grade credit asset class.
Connor joined Wellington Management in 2015. Previously, he was a portfolio manager at BlackRock, where he was responsible for investment-grade credit sleeves within multisector bond portfolios, as well as absolute return sleeves in unconstrained nonbenchmark-oriented portfolios (2010 – 2015).
Carlyle – Wendy Zhu – Partner, Managing Director of Carlyle. Global Head of Alpinvest Primary Investments and Asia Head of Secondary

Wendy is a Partner, Managing Director and Global Head of AlpInvest Partners’ Primary Fund Investments team. She is also responsible for the Secondary and Portfolio Finance team in the Asia Pacific region and a member of the Operating Committee.
She joined AlpInvest Partners in 2007 from Macquarie Funds Management, where she was Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific regional private equity fund investments and co-investments. Previously, Wendy was a Director with Deutsche Bank Asset Management and an Associate Director at MetLife.
Ardian – Won Ha, Head of Singapore and Korea and Managing Director

Won Ha joined Ardian in 2011. He is responsible for heading the Singapore office and establishing the recently opened office in Seoul. He has been instrumental in developing Ardian’s fund of funds’ platform in Asia, particularly Korea and Singapore. Won equally leads the firm’s fundraising efforts and institutional investor relations in the aforementioned countries. Prior to joining Ardian, he worked at Korea Venture Investment Corporation and at Clemensen Capital Company LLC. He is based in Singapore.

Pia Cooke is Standard Chartered’s Head of Advisory Solutions. She has more than 20 years of wealth management and financial markets experience across Private Banking and Investment Banking. She has worked in various international financial centres focusing on advisory, sales, business development and strategy, running advisory teams specializing in managed investments, discretionary portfolio management, equities and structured products. She is currently responsible for overseeing and refining how advice is delivered and applied across Standard Chartered’s global client base.
Fireside Chat with Mr George Yeo
George Yeo – Former Foreign Minister of Singapore

George Yeo is currently a Visiting Scholar at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore, and the Founding Patron of its Asia Competitiveness Institute.
Mr Yeo was with Kerry Group in Hong Kong from 2012 to 2021. He was Chairman and Executive Director of Kerry Logistics Network from 2012 to 2019.
From September 1988 to May 2011, he served 23 years in the Singapore Government, and was Minister for Information and the Arts, Minister for Health, Minister for Trade & Industry and Minister for Foreign Affairs.
