Chartered Bank Hong Kong |
- In SCBHK, subject to certain KYC requirements
and the HK$50,000 transaction limit, OTT,
CHATS, Cashier Order, Travellers Cheque, Gift
Cheque are allowed for non-SCHK account holder.
Bank Draft request from a non-SCBHK account
holder shall be rejected. (BOC 1782)
- Please note that Priority Banking Card cannot
be used as an Identity Proof for KYC purpose.
- For remittances (TT & DD), customers
can enjoy the benefit while special conditions
apply:
- Remittances must be from SCB or SCBHK
a/c to another SCB or SCBHK a/c overseas
- Both from SCB or SCBHK a/c and to SCB
or SCBHK a/c must be under the same name
- Overseas PrB customers can enjoy privileged
charge that is equivalent to the privileges
offered to the local PrB customers.
- Only for remittance instruction received
by PrB Queues / Centres where they can
show their PrB Cards

- For Malaysia, subject to Bank Negara Malaysia
(Central Bank of Malaysia) ruling, KYC requirements
and RM10,000 transaction limit, OTT, CHATS,
Cashier Order, Travellers Cheque and Bank
Draft are allowed for non-SCBMY account holder.
Transactions in Ringgit are limited to RM10,000.
However, no restrictions for transactions
in foreign currencies.

- In SCB Brunei, Identity of Non-Account
Holder must be verified against a valid international
Passport or Bruneis Identity Card and
to be photocopied for record.
- Traveler Cheque
- Non-Account Holders can only purchase
TCs for amount below BND5,000.
- The threshold for encashment of
TCs is capped at USD200.
- Cashier Order
- Non-Account Holder can only purchase
Cashier Order for amount below BND5,000.
- Drafts & Telex Service
- Non-account holders can only purchase
drafts/telegraphic transfer for amount
below BND5000.
- Drafts/OTT issuance for non-account
holder can only be issued to following
destinations:
- ASEAN Countries
- India
- Sri Lanka
- Pakistan
- Bangladesh
- Remitter and Beneficiarys
address (P O Box are not acceptable)

to Australia.
- Residential address and copy of
identification (valid international
Passport/Brunei Identification Card)
for non-account holder must be obtained
and copy of the Passport/IC attached
to the application form.

- For India Pay Order/ Demand Drafts - A Pay
Order is normally made for bank transfer within
the same city for eg. Issued and payable in
Mumbai. A Demand Draft is payable to any other
city for eg. Issued in Mumbai and payable
in Delhi. As per SCB India policy, a DD of
only upto a maximum of INR 20,000 can be issued
against cash. This will be the limit applicable
to a non-SCB India account holder.
Traveler Cheque, Foreign Currency Exchange
and Telegraphic Transfer Not currently
allowed for non-SCB India account holders.

- Indonesia - Purchase of TC is available
for non SCB account holder.
- The maximum value of Travellers Cheque
for encashment of non SCB account holder
per day is USD 300 (or its equivalent
in foreign currency) at upcountry branches,
or up to USD 500 (or its equivalent in
foreign currency) at Jakarta branch.
- Travellers Cheque is available in USD,
GBP, and EUR. SCB Indonesia may purchase
from major issuers, such as VISA, Thomas
Cook, MasterCard, American Express and
Citicorp and sell American Express Traveller's
Cheques only.
- Telegraphic Transfer can be utilized
by account holders in SCB Indonesia or
SCB overseas only.
- For non account holder, the maximum
amount to be credited to an account is
USD 15,000
- Bank Draft is available in major foreign
currencies namely USD, GBP, EUR, CAD,
NZD, SGD, HKD, JPY, and AUD and applicable
only for account holder in SCB Indonesia
only.
- Maximum amount per draft issuance is
GBP 5,000 or its equivalent in foreign
currency

- China - Priority Banking Card cannot be
used as an Identity Proof for KYC purpose.
- For remittances (TT & DD) between
SCB accounts, no waiver on the charge
due to local regulatory request.
- Overseas PrB customers can enjoy privileged
charge that is equivalent to the privileges
offered to the local PrB customers.
- TC encashment is only for SCB issued
TC.
- Emergency Cash Service is still to be
confirmed by local regulatory approval.
- Customer must hold a remittance account
for outward remittance, which is requested
by local regulation.
- Valid identification document include
ID, passport or other document recognised
and valid to China KYC requirements,
excluding police/embassy report loss form
of such documents.

- Non-account holders can only purchase
TCs, for the maximum amount of USD 5,000
- Foreign Currency Exchange
- Non-account holders can purchase and
sell foreign currency notes for the maximum
of USD 5,000
- Telegraphic Transfer & Bank Draft
- Non-account holders are not currently
allowed for outward Telegraphic Transfer
and issuing Bank Draft
- Only SCBs Bank Draft drawn on
SCB, Bangkok can be cashed at SCB, Bangkok
- Document and service requirement
- Identity of Non-Account Holder must
be verified against a valid international
Passport to be photocopied and original
signed for record
- Non-account holder must have supporting
document for source of funds
- All services are provided under Bank
of Thailands regulation and SCNB
policy
