KUALA LUMPUR, 3 Mar 2014 – The country's first bank Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia recently presented a BMW X1 worth over RM200,000 to the grand prize winner of its Digital Drive contest.
Aviation engineer Rajiv Bharatan emerged the winner for making regular bill payments and money transfers online as well as using mobile banking app. He received the luxury crossover vehicle from Sonia Wedrychowicz, Country Head of Consumer Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia at a ceremony held at its Head Office.
Rajiv said, “I've been a regular user of online banking especially the Breeze mobile banking app and I like the convenience of banking on the move. Winning this car is a great start to 2014 and a surprise wedding gift for my fiancée and I as we will be tying the knot in June. It's like a dream come true.”
“We are happy to note that the contest received overwhelming response with participation from over 70,000 customers with 1.3 million transactions recorded during the campaign period. Digital banking channels present a massive opportunity for us to grow online and mobile usage and at the same time increase our customer base. Therefore, we continue to transform our business and invest for long term growth with a focus on digital technologies that we believe will shape the future of banking,” said Sonia Wedrychowicz, Country Head Consumer Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia.
The Standard Chartered Digital Drive contest kicked off in June last year to encourage customers to bank online and use its Breeze mobile app. It offered daily, weekly and monthly prizes throughout the seven month campaign period.
