Standard Chartered rewards customer with trip to Anfield to watch Liverpool FC vs Man Utd
Contest held to launch new look Liverpool debit card
Kuala Lumpur, 17 March 2015 – Kon Fui Sun of Kuala Lumpur is set for a money-can’t-buy-experience as she will be flying to the UK to watch Liverpool Football Club (“LFC”) play against Manchester United at Anfield this Sunday.
The 32-year-old Finance Manager emerged as the grand prize winner in Standard Chartered’s Liverpool Debit Card contest (“the contest”) which ran from 15 December 2014 to 15 February 2015.
Besides two Centenary Stand tickets for the match, she also won two return air tickets to the UK for with airport transfers, two nights’ hotel accommodation, stadium tour and RM1,000 spending money.
Commenting on her win, Kon said she was surprised to receive the news. “I increased my chances by making more incremental deposits into my JustOne account and performing more online bill payments during the contest period.”
“My sister is an avid LFC fan but she generously turned down my invitation to be my travel companion so that I could go with my husband. We have never been to the UK so we are truly excited and looking forward to it,” Kon said.

The contest was held in conjunction with the release of a new card face for the LFC debit card that is exclusively available to Standard Chartered current and savings accountholders.
Lin explained: “This design is unique to Standard Chartered in Malaysia and not available in other markets. Undeniably LFC is a club with a strong heritage, as is Standard Chartered, and we are extremely proud to be associated with the club.”
Besides the grand prize, consolation prizes comprising 10 autographed LFC jerseys and 10 autographed LFC footballs were also offered. In addition, 27 weekly top spenders using debit card throughout the contest period were rewarded with Xiaomi mobile phones.
