DuitNow QR is Malaysia’s National QR Standard established by PayNet under the Bank Negara Malaysia’s Interoperable Credit Transfer Framework (ITCF).

How does DuitNow QR differ from the existing QR payments offered by banks and e-Wallet providers?

DuitNow QR allows interoperability between all participating Banks and e-Wallets so that you do not need to use different Mobile Apps to pay different Merchants.

How does DuitNow QR benefit consumers?

Through DuitNow QR, consumers can make payment from any participating Bank or e-Wallet Mobile App. Merchants will only display one QR Code, thus lessening confusion and hassle.

Where will I find the DuitNow QR?

You can find the DuitNow QR displayed at Merchant payment counters or generated by any by any participating bank or e-Wallet Mobile Apps.

Do I need to register to use DuitNow QR?

No registration is required. All you need to have is our SC Mobile App to start making transactions with DuitNow QR.

Where can I find DuitNow QR option in SC Mobile App?

It is displayed on your SC Mobile App Login page as well as under the Transfer & Payment tab once you have logged in. There will also be popups and banners displayed throughout.

I keep seeing DuitNow QR popup after login SC Mobile App. It is annoying, how can I get rid of it?

The DuitNow QR popup will be dismissed automatically once you have performed a DuitNow QR transaction. There is also a “Do not display this again” checkbox on the popup, tick the checkbox to discontinue future DuitNow QR popups and it will not appear anymore.

I have clicked on the “Do not display this again” checkbox in DuitNow QR popup but somehow it is still popping now when I login, may I know why?

The popup should not display anymore once you’ve selected the option. However, if you have reinstall SC Mobile App, all previous settings will revert to default and in order to dismiss it, you may either perform a DuitNow QR transaction or tick the checkbox of “Do not display this again”.

Why was I not able to view/select my credit card as a source account when trying to perform a DuitNow QR P2P transfer?

Only current/savings accounts to be used as the source of fund account for DuitNow QR P2P transfer. All credit cards will not appear in the source account drop-down list.

Why I was not able to see/select my credit card as source of fund account when trying to perform a DuitNow QR P2M payment?

Both current/savings accounts and credit cards have been enabled for DuitNow QR P2M payment. However, it is still subject to Merchant whether they accept or do not accept a particular source of fund and your credit card will not appear in the source account drop-down list. Please confirm with the Merchant if the source of fund was not displayed or reach out to our Client Care Centre for further assistance.

I noticed sometimes when I scan the QR, the amount is defaulted but sometimes it is not, may I know why?

There are two types of QR introduced by PayNet, dynamic QR and static QR. For dynamic QR, the amount is defaulted but can be changed. For static QR, the amount will appear as zero by default. It depends on the specific DuitNow QR code generated.

When I’m performing a pre-login DuitNow QR, suddenly the screen prompts me to login, is that a system bug?

For pre-login DuitNow QR transactions and for Touch/Face ID non-enabled devices, the 1FA (one-factor authentication) will be your 6-digit SC Mobile Key and 2FA (two-factor authentication) will be your login credentials. If you look carefully on the text in the login screen, you will find it is asking for login credentials as 2FA in order to complete the QR transaction.

When performing DuitNow QR transactions, why does the app prompt me for my 6-digit SC Mobile Key but sometimes it does not?

For any DuitNow QR P2P transfer, 6-digit SC Mobile Key as 2FA (two-factor authentication) is compulsory. However, if you perform DuitNow QR P2M payment, it is only required when the transaction amount is above RM250.

Is there a limit to the amount that I can pay with DuitNow QR?

For Person-To-Person (P2P) transfer, the limit is the same as your existing DuitNow Mobile limit whereas for Person-To-Merchant (P2M) payment, the limit is the same as your existing Bill Payment Limit.

Where can I check my DuitNow Mobile and Bill Payment limits

You can check your DuitNow Mobile limit/Bill Payment Limit going to your Online Banking profile, selecting Change Funds Transfer Limit and look for Bill Payment and DuitNow Mobile Existing Limit field.

Why am I not able to check my DuitNow Mobile and Bill Payment limits on the SC Mobile App?

Currently the limit maintenance module is only made available in Online Banking.

I was not able to view my DuitNow QR transaction history via Online Banking, where is it located?

You can view your full DuitNow QR transaction history under Payment History of Pay module on the Dashboard.

Can I share the receipt as the proof of my DuitNow QR transaction?

Yes, simply click on share button in the transaction acknowledgement screen after every successful transaction. If you have exited the transaction acknowledgement screen, go to the Payment History tab under Pay Module in Dashboard, click on the date of the transaction and click on the “Print Receipt” button in the Payment Details page at bottom right corner.

My transaction status is shown as submitted after I have made the transaction, where can I view the complete transaction status?

You can view transaction status on the “Status Enquiry” button at the bottom right corner of the acknowledgement page or select Payment History on the Dashboard. You will receive inbox/SMS/email notifications upon a successful/rejected DuitNow QR transaction. You may also reach out to our Client Care Centre for further assistance.

I wanted to try out this DuitNow QR transaction but could not find any merchant who is supporting it, can you advise?

DuitNow QR implementation is still at early stage in the industry and more merchants will be coming onboard soon. DuitNow QR is currently available at Clarins, G2000, Gribbles pathology, Focus Electrical, KPJ Tawakal and more.
