Why you should consider this Investment?

How it works

Below is an illustration only and actual values may vary.

Step 1:
Let’s assume you have SGD50,470 and you do not mind investing in and holding stocks of Singapore Telecom Limited (SingTel)

Step 2:
Let’s say the spot price for SingTel as at the trade date is at SGD9.00. However, preferring to be more conservative, you set a strike price of SGD8.55 (95% of spot price)

Step 3:
You do not need the money in the next month, so you choose a 1-month tenure. At this stage, we will inform you of the confirmed yield you will enjoy. In this case let’s assume it is 20% p.a.

Step 4:
On fixing day3, it will be determined whether your funds plus the confirmed yield will be repaid in cash or in stocks of SingTel.

Scenario 1
Scenario 2
SingTel’s stock price appreciates above the strike price you have set.

It now trades at SGD10.25

SingTel’s stock price depreciates below the strike price you have set.

It now trades at SGD8.25

You will receive your principal + 30 days’ yield in Singapore Dollar

SGD50,470 + (30/365 x 20% x SGD50 470) = SGD51,299.644

You will receive SingTel stocks equivalent to your principal + 30 days’ yield in Singapore Dollar

[SGD50,470 + (30/365 x 20% x SGD50,470)] / SGD8.55 (strike price) = 6 Lots of SingTel’s stocks5 (6,000 stocks)

3The determination of Fixing Day applicable for the Premium Equity-Linked Investment will be as per the requirements of the respective Stock Exchanges on which the underlying stocks are listed.
