How to prevent financial crime? FinCrime & Surveillance Summit 2025 coming up in April
3 days agoForms of financial crimes are rapidly evolving alongside the technological development, posing increasing challenges for organizations. Money laundering, tax fraud, embezzlement and cyberattacks are threats affecting both companies and financial institutions worldwide. The FinCrime & Surveillance Summit 2025 is an opportunity to talk among experts about effectively countering these phenomena.

Growing threats to the financial sector
Illicit activities within financial markets are becoming increasingly sophisticated. According to the Polish Bank Association, in 2024 alone, criminals attempted to defraud a total of 324.2 million PLN through credit fraud in Poland. Simultaneously, data from the Police shows that only in the first half of 2024, nearly 56 thousand internet fraud cases were reported in Poland, posing a direct threat to financial security. Criminals are increasingly leveraging new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to hide illegal income or circumvent regulations.
“The growing scale of frauds is forcing the financial sector to implement increasingly advanced control mechanisms. While technology helps enhance security, it is also more and more used by fraudsters to bypass these safeguards. This is why financial flow monitoring must continuously evolve to effectively mitigate risks.”
– Anna Urbańska, CEO, Standard Chartered Poland
