GIRO is an arrangement provided by your bank for you to make payments for any outstanding bills directly to a billing organisation.

Please approach the Billing Organisation for the application form to complete and submit.

No, GIRO application forms should be submitted directly to the Billing Organisation for processing.  Any GIRO application forms submitted to the Bank will be rejected.

Your GIRO application should be approved within 14 working days from the date of your application, provided you have updated the form correctly.

The fixed date and amount to be deducted will be determined by the Billing Organisation when they initiate the collection. Please contact the Billing Organisation for more information.

With effect from 2 May 2017, the transaction limit has been raised from S$25 million to S$90 million.

You may manage your existing GIRO arrangements via the following methods:

  1. Contact the Billing Organisation directly to terminate the GIRO arrangement
  2. Via SC Online Banking >  Transfers & Payments > Manage GIRO
  3. Via SC Mobile > Pay & Transfer > Scheduled > GIRO

Do note that Methods 2 and 3 above will only terminate the GIRO arrangement on the Bank’s end. The GIRO arrangement may still be reflected as active on the Billing Organisation’s end, although funds will no longer be deducted from your Standard Chartered account.

Additionally, do note that your GIRO arrangements will only be accessible via SC Online Banking or SC Mobile if the GIRO arrangement has been successfully set up.

eGIRO is the completely digitised version of GIRO, where applications can be directly made via the Billing Organisation’s website within minutes, instead of 3 to 4 weeks with traditional GIRO.

You may set up a Standing Order with the Bank instead. For Standing Orders, you will have to manually indicate the amount, frequency, and fixed date of collection / payment and the Bank’s system will execute the instructions on each value date.

You may access the Standing Order form here.
