Frequently Asked Questions for Smart Credit Card Risk Based Pricing

  • An assessment of interest rate (“Rate Review”) is applicable to all Smart Credit Card principal accounts opened at least 6 months from the date of Rate Review. This is conducted based on the principal cardholders’ credit profile.
    If there is a change in the Effective Interest Rate (“EIR”), the bank will notify impacted clients 30 days before the change is effective.

  • The principal Smart Credit Card holder will be informed minimally 30 days before the new EIR is effective.

  • Based on the Bank’s assessment of your credit profile, an EIR of either 23.9%, 26.9% or 29.9% per annum will be assigned to your active Smart Credit Card. The EIR across all your other active credit cards with the Bank will be assigned at 26.9% per annum.

  • The EIR will be assigned by the Bank based on the assessment of your credit profile.

  • There will be two rate reviews in a calendar year i.e., on 15 March and 15 September.

  • The rate review and EIR of 29.9% p.a. is only applicable to the Smart Credit Card. All other principal credit card(s) you apply with the bank will be issued at an EIR of 26.9% per annum.

  • All clients applying for a new subsequent principal credit card(s) will be issued at a fixed EIR of 26.9% per annum for the duration when the principal credit card(s) is/are active.

  • All supplementary credit card(s) will follow the same EIR assigned to the principal credit card.

  • The revised EIR applies till the next round of Rate Review, and the EIR tagged to your Smart Credit Card might be revised based on Bank’s assessment of your credit profile during the next Rate Review.

  • The EIR is assigned by the Bank based on the assessment of your credit profile.

  • The EIR is assigned by the Bank based on the assessment of your credit profile. An EIR of either 23.9%, 26.9% or 29.9% per annum will be assigned to your active Smart Credit Card.

  • Your CBS rating will not be impacted if there are revisions made to the EIR tagged to your Smart Card.

  • SCB will not be able to perform an ad-hoc Rate Review for the EIR tagged to your Smart Credit Card, Rate Review are performed periodically on 15 March and 15 September each year.
