Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card Beyond A Million Miles Promotion Term and Conditions

1. The Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card Beyond A Million Miles Promotion (the “Promotion”), which consists of four (4) individual offers (as set out in Sections 1 to 4 below), is available from 22 November 2024 to 30 June 2025 (both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”). By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with The Good Life® Programme (the individual merchant and general terms and conditions of which can be found here).

3. The rewards earned under this Promotion are non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable for cash or credit or otherwise.

4. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute the rewards given to you under this Promotion with any item of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).

5. In the event that you terminate your banking relationship with the Bank within six (6) months of the end of the Promotion Period, the Bank further reserves the right to recover the whole or any part of the rewards given to you under this Promotion. At the time of crediting any rewards under this Promotion to you, your Beyond Credit Card account must be valid (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason), failing which, the rewards earned by you under the Promotion will be forfeited and the Bank shall also be entitled to recover the whole or any part of such rewards (or such equivalent value) given to you.

6. By participating in the Promotion, you consent to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of your telephone number and email address to contact you about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail.

7. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete or otherwise revise any of the Terms and Conditions governing this Promotion or modify, terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons).

8. The Bank is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of the transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.

9. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including your eligibility for any rewards under the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive, and no correspondence will be entertained.

10. In the event the Bank has determined (in the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion) that you are not eligible to receive any reward under the Promotion or to participate in the Promotion or has irregularly or wrongly redeemed a reward, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that you would not have been entitled to a reward (including but not limited to where the Eligible Transactions were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back such reward or deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the your account(s) with the Bank.

11. In the event of any inconsistency between these Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.

12. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, will be indemnified from and against, and/or you hereby agree to release and hold the Bank and members of the Bank’s group harmless for, any expenses, costs of any kind (including legal costs), liability, loss (whether foreseeable or not), claim or damage, directly or indirectly, suffered, incurred (whether in common law or equity), arising from or in connection with your acceptance, possession, use, misuse and/or enjoyment of the rewards gained from this Promotion and/or this Promotion.

13. These Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read together with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms, Standard Chartered 360° Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions, Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card Terms and Conditions and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.

14. A person who is not a party to these Promotion Terms and Conditions has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of these Promotion Terms and Conditions.

15. These Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.

 

Section 1: Beyond Credit Card Welcome Offer

Eligibility Criteria – Welcome Gift

16. To qualify for the Welcome Gift (as set out in Clause 17 below):

a. You must apply for the Beyond Credit Card (“Beyond Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Beyond principal cardholder) and such application has to be submitted to the Bank either through https://www.sc.com/sg/ or any of our appointed relationship managers or agents at the Bank’s roadshow booths;

b. The Bank must receive your application for the Beyond Card within the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Bank may continue to process any application received up to 14 calendar days after the end of the Promotion Period, and shall retain the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of these applications and/or allow the said applications for the purposes of this Promotion on a case-by-case basis;

c. Your Beyond Card application must be approved by the Bank, where such approval is final and unconditional; and

d. Your Beyond Card must, within six (6) months of card approval date, continue to be valid (i.e. your Beyond Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion.

e. You must pay the annual fee of S$1,500.00 (excluding GST). For the first year, the annual fee will be charged in the first statement cycle. Thereafter, the annual fee will be charged yearly on the date that the Beyond Card was approved by the Bank. This annual fee is strictly not waivable.

Offer Mechanics – Welcome Gift

17. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clause 16, you will receive 60,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 150,000 360° Reward Points) (“Welcome Gift”) within 60 working days of your physical Beyond Card activation date.

Eligibility Criteria – Acquisition Gift

18. To qualify for the Acquisition Gift (as set out in Clauses 20 and 21 below):

a. You must have successfully fulfilled the conditions under Clause 16

b. You must, within 90 calendar days of your Beyond Card approval date (“Eligible Transaction Period”),

i. Charge a minimum of S$20,000 in Eligible Transactions (as set out in Clause 19 below) to your Beyond Card; or

ii. If you are an employee of the Bank, charge a minimum of S$10,000 in Eligible Transactions (as set out in Clause 19 below) to your Beyond Card

19. For the purposes of the Beyond Credit Card Welcome Offer, an “Eligible Transaction” is a transaction which:

a. is charged to your principal or supplementary Beyond Card;

b. is posted to your Beyond Card account within 90 calendar days of your Beyond Card approval date; and

c. is not an excluded transaction listed in https://www.sc.com/sg/terms-and-conditions/cc-retail-transaction-exclusions/

Offer Mechanics – Acquisition Gift 

20. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clauses 18a, 18b(i) and 19, you will receive 40,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 100,000 360° Reward Points) (“Acquisition Gift”) within 60 working days of the end of the Eligible Transaction Period.

21. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clauses 18a, 18b(ii) and 19, you will receive 40,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 100,000 360° Reward Points) (“Acquisition Gift”) within 60 working days of the end of the Eligible Transaction Period, provided that you are still an employee of the Bank at the point of the Acquisition Gift fulfilment.

23. If an Eligible Transaction is successfully converted into monthly instalments during the Eligible Transaction Period, the total amount charged for the Eligible Transaction (and not the converted monthly instalment amount) will be used towards the fulfilment of the minimum Eligible Transaction amount as set out in Clauses 18b(i) or 18b(ii).

24. For Eligible Transactions charged to the Beyond Card in foreign currency, the Singapore Dollar transaction amount posted to your account (inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) will used towards the fulfilment of the minimum Eligible Transaction amount as set out in Clauses 18b(i) or 18b(ii).

25. For the avoidance of doubt, you may only receive the Welcome Gift and/or Acquisition Gift once under the Beyond Credit Card Welcome Offer.

 

Section 2 – SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer

Eligibility Criteria

26. The SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer is exclusively for Beyond principal cardholders only.

27. If you participate in this SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer, you will not be eligible to participate in the Priority Banking & Priority Private Q4 2024 Sign-Up Promotion, and vice versa.

28. To qualify and receive the rewards for this SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer, you must successfully apply for a Beyond Credit Card as a principal cardholder during the Promotion Period, and within one (1) calendar month of card approval date:

For New-to-Bank Customers (as set out in Clause 35 below):

a. Successfully apply for a Wealth $aver Account (SGD denominated) (“Wealth $aver Account”) as the main account holder;

b. Successfully establish a new SC Priority Banking, Priority Private or Private Banking relationship with the Bank, including the following requirements corresponding to your newly established banking relationship with the Bank;

30. Your total number of miles earned will be credited to your Beyond Card account in the form of Rewards Points within two (2) months of the completion of the six (6) month holding period for Fresh Funds.

31. In the event that you cease to maintain your Wealth $aver Account, the account(s) tagged to your Priority Banking/Priority Private relationship (as the case may be) are no longer valid and in good standing (as set out in Clause 37), or you opt-out of being treated as an Accredited Investor by the Bank within six (6) calendar months of attaining the Accredited Investor status, you will be considered as disqualified from this Promotion and be deemed to have forfeited any Rewards Points earned, even with the successful fulfilment of Clauses 26 to 28.

32.In the event that you have received Cashback, Reward Points, or otherwise under previous Priority Banking & Priority Private Sign-Up Promotions (such as but not limited to the Priority Banking & Priority Private Q3 2024 Sign-Up Promotion) in the last 18 calendar months as reasonably determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion, you will not be eligible to participate in this SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer.

33. The Bank reserves the right to decline or cancel the crediting of the Reward Points earned, or otherwise deem the Reward Points earned as forfeited without prior notice, in the event that the Bank determines that any of the requirements or the terms of our banking agreement had not been complied with, including but not limited to the following:

a. where you have acted fraudulently or dishonestly;

b. where you have conducted yourself in bad faith or otherwise in an inappropriate manner to gain an unfair advantage against the Bank; or

c. upon the occurrence of any event giving rise to a right for the Bank to suspend or terminate any (or all) of our banking agreement for a product, as set out at Clauses 34 and 35 of our Customer Terms and elsewhere in our banking agreement.

34. By participating in this SC Priority, Priority Private & Private Banking with Wealth $aver Account Welcome Offer, you further agree that, under any of the circumstances stated in Clause 33 above, the Bank is not obliged to substitute the Reward Points reward with a gift of lower value.

Definitions

35. New-to-Bank Customers refer to customers who do not have a primary account, primary relationship or product with the Bank within the past 12 months from the date of commencement of the Promotion Period.

36. Fresh Funds refer to funds that do not originate from any existing account with the Bank and can be in terms of Eligible Deposits available with the Bank.

a. Eligible Deposits are funds that have not been withdrawn and re-deposited within the last 30 days; including

i. Time Deposits; and

ii. Amounts over which security has been placed (in favour of the Bank)

37. Valid and in good standing, in the context of this Priority Banking & Priority Private and Wealth $aver Welcome Offer means:

a. the Wealth $aver Account must not be suspended, cancelled, terminated or closed for any reason;

b. the Wealth $aver Account is not delinquent or unsatisfactorily conducted for any reason; and

c. You have not breached any term of our banking agreement.

 

Section 3 – Wealth Welcome Offer

Eligibility Criteria

38. The Wealth Welcome Offer is exclusively for Beyond principal cardholders only.

39. To qualify and receive the rewards for the Wealth Welcome Offer, you must successfully apply for a Beyond Credit Card as a principal cardholder during the Promotion Period, and within three (3) calendar months of card approval date:

a. Purchase a minimum of S$100,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency) in Eligible Unit Trusts (as set out in Clause 46 below) within a single day, and/or:

b. Purchase a minimum of S$100,000 in Eligible Single Premium Products (as set out in Clause 47 below and subject to Clauses 49 to 54) and/or;

c. Purchase a minimum of S$30,000 in Eligible Regular Premium Products (as set out in Clause 48 below and subject to Clauses 49 to 54).

40. To be eligible to receive the rewards for the Wealth Welcome Offer, your Beyond Card must continue to be valid (i.e., your Beyond Card account must not be suspended, cancelled, or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion.

Offer Mechanics

41. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clauses 38, 39a, and 40, you will receive 12,500 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 31,250 Rewards Points) for each S$100,000 block of Eligible Unit Trusts purchased. The rewards received from the successful fulfilment of Clause 39a is capped at 250,000 miles (corresponding to S$2,000,000 of investments in Eligible Unit Trusts).

42. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clauses 38, 39b, and 40, you will receive 30,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 75,000 Rewards Points) for each S$100,000 block of Eligible Single Premium Products purchased. The rewards received from the successful fulfilment of Clause 39b is capped at 300,000 miles (corresponding to S$1,000,000 of investments in Eligible Single Premium Products).

43. If you successfully fulfil the conditions under Clauses 38, 39c, and 40, you will receive 30,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 75,000 Rewards Points) for each S$30,000 block of Eligible Regular Premium Products purchased. The rewards received from the successful fulfilment of Clause 39c is capped at 300,000 miles (corresponding to S$300,000 of investments in Eligible Regular Premium Products).

44. The total number of Rewards Points earned = Applicable Earn Rate x Number of Blocks (rounded down). Please refer to the illustration table below:

Definitions

46. Eligible Unit Trusts refer to unit trusts issued and/or distributed by the Bank which carry a minimum sales charge of 1.5% and excludes:

a. investments placed through the Bank’s Online Trading platform or Online Unit Trust Platform;

b. exchange traded funds;

c. investments made through the Central Provident Fund Investment Scheme/Supplementary Retirement Scheme;

d. investments placed via regular savings plans;

e. investments placed via SC Invest; and

f. switching transactions.

47. Eligible Single Premium Products refer to non-discounted Single Premium Insurance policies underwritten by Prudential Assurance Company Singapore (Pte) Limited (“Prudential”) and distributed by the Bank, which are approved and issued by Prudential within two (2) months from the date of purchase. Please contact your Relationship Manager or Insurance Specialist for the full list of Eligible Single Premium Products.

48. Eligible Regular Premium Products refer to all Regular Premium Insurance policies except PRUShield underwritten by Prudential and distributed by the Bank, which are approved and issued by Prudential within two (2) months from the date of purchase.

 

Other conditions applicable to Eligible Single Premium Products and Eligible Regular Premium Products

49. For joint accounts, only the account holder nominated as the main account holder shall be awarded the Rewards Points upon the successful fulfilment of Clause 39b and/or Clause 39c.

50. Where Eligible Single Premium Products and/or Eligible Regular Premium Products are purchased in joint names, only the policy holder nominated as the main policy holder shall be awarded the Rewards Points upon the successful fulfilment of Clause 39b and/or Clause 39c.

51. For the avoidance of doubt, the aggregation of premiums of Eligible Single Premium Products and/or Eligible Regular Insurance Products held by distinct Beyond Credit Cardholders, in order to fulfil Clause 39b or Clause 39c is not allowed.

52. In the event that your Eligible Single Premium Products and/or Eligible Regular Premium Products are terminated / surrendered / cancelled within 12 months of their commencement date, you shall be deemed to have forfeited the Rewards Points awarded to you. In the event that the Rewards Points have already been received by you, the Bank reserves the right to debit a value equivalent to the Reward (or such other amount as the Bank deems fit) from any of your account(s) held with the Bank without prior notice.

53. The purchase of any Eligible Single Premium Products and Eligible Regular Premium Products are subject to the terms and conditions of, and acceptance by, Prudential. The benefits listed in any marketing or promotional materials issued by the Bank are for illustration purposes only. Please refer to the full terms and conditions, and exclusions listed in the policy contract. The Bank does not accept any responsibility regarding any statement made in, omission or inclusion of any provision of, any contract between you and Prudential. Any dispute in relation to any contract between you and Prudential is to be resolved directly with Prudential. The Bank will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage arising in connection with your application and / or any contract between you and Prudential.

54. This Wealth Welcome Offer is not valid in conjunction with:

a. Standard Chartered Bank Staff Banking Insurance Campaign – Life Insurance

b. Standard Chartered Bank Staff Banking Wealth Campaign – Life Insurance

c. Prudential Maturity Promotion

d. Steady Saver Rewards Promotion

Section 4 – Beyond Credit Card Referral Programme

Eligibility Criteria

55. To qualify for the Beyond Credit Card Referral Programme, you must:

a. Be an existing customer of the Bank;

b. Is a Beyond principal cardholder;

c. Have a minimum of one (1) Singapore Dollar denominated current/cheque/savings account with the Bank; and

d. Refer any family member or friend (“Referred Individual”) to the Bank during the Promotion Period.

56. Prior to referring a Referred Individual to the Bank, you must:

a. Consent to the Bank disclosing your name and the fact that you are a customer of the Bank to such Referred Individual;

b. Obtain the consent of such Referred Individual to your provision of the personal data relating to such Referred Individual set out in the Referral Form to the Bank. You should also inform each Referred Individual that their personal data provided to the Bank may be used for the marketing of the Bank’s products and services.

c. Inform and obtain the consent of such Referred Individual to the Bank’s representative contacting them via phone and message;

d. Inform the Referred Individual that a reward will be accorded to you if these Beyond Credit Card Referral Programme conditions are complied with; and

e. Inform and obtain the consent of such Referred Individual that the total value of their Fresh Funds placement with the Bank may be disclosed to you by virtue of the reward you receive under the Beyond Referral Programme.

57. A referral will be considered successful when:

a. You apply for a Beyond Credit Card during the Promotion Period and the referral is made within three (3) calendar months of your Beyond Card approval date;

b. The Referred Individual is a New-to-Bank customer (as defined in Clause 35) and within one (1) calendar month of the date of referral

i. Successfully applies for a Beyond Credit Card as the principal cardholder;

ii. Successfully applies for a Wealth $aver Account as the primary account holder;

iii. Starts a SC Priority, Priority Private or Private Banking relationship with the Bank

iv. Fulfils all of the following requirements corresponding to the banking relationship established by the Referred Individual;

Completes a Financial Needs Analysis Consents to be treated as an Accredited Investor (as interpreted and effected under the Securities and Futures Act (Chapter 289 of Singapore) and the Securities and Futures (Classes of Investors) Regulations 2018) by the Bank for at least six (6) calendar months after establishing the Priority Private relationship with the Bank, including providing such supporting documentation and information as required by the Bank, with such status to be determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion
Maintains month-end balances of at least S$200,000 (or its equivalent in another currency) in the new Wealth$aver Account mentioned above for at least six (6) calendar months after establishing the Priority Banking relationship with the Bank (“Maintenance Period”) Maintains month-end balances of at least S$1,500,000 (or its equivalent in another currency) in the new Wealth$aver Account mentioned above for at least six (6) calendar months after establishing the Priority Private relationship with the Bank. (“Maintenance Period”)

v. Has not had a SC Priority, Priority Private or Private Banking relationship with the Bank in the 12 months prior to the commencement of the Promotion Period, albeit with no existing relationships; and

vi. Is not participating in the Priority Banking and Priority Private Qualified Client Promotion.

c. The referral is made in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

58. A referral will not be considered successful if it is made by an employee of the Bank or its affiliated companies who is:

a. A representative that conducts regulated activities under the Financial Advisers Act 2001 and the Securities Futures Act 2001;

b. An individual that has the authority to make decisions or conduct activities that can significantly impact the safety and soundness of the Bank or its affiliated companies, or cause harm to a significant segment of the customers or other stakeholders of the Bank or its affiliated companies;

c. An individual that is principally responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bank or its affiliated companies (i.e., Certified Persons); or

d. An individual whose job duties include the procurement and referral of New-to-Bank customers of the Bank or its affiliated companies (such as Relationship Managers, Business Acquisition Managers and Relationship Service Managers).

59. This Beyond Credit Card Referral Programme is not valid in conjunction with the Priority Banking and Priority Private Referral Campaign.

60. The date of referral shall be determined as the date that Bank receives the contact details of the Referred Individual.

 

Offer Mechanics

61. For each successful referral made where the Referred Individual establishes a SC Priority Banking relationship with the Bank, you will receive 50,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 125,000 Rewards Points). 

62. For each successful referral made where the Referred Individual establishes a SC Priority Private or Private Banking relationship with the Bank, you will receive 150,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 375,000 Rewards Points).

63. The respective Rewards Points will be credited to the Beyond card account within 2 months after the Maintenance Period.

64. The number of successful referrals made is capped at 1 Priority Banking referral and 1 Priority Private referral each. In other words, the maximum number of miles to be earned from the Beyond Credit Card Referral Programme is 200,000 miles (credited to the Beyond Card account in the form of 500,000 Rewards Points).

65. The Referred Individual may participate in the Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card Beyond A Million Miles Promotion if the Referred Individual fulfils the respective requirements listed in this Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card Beyond A Million Miles Promotion Terms and Conditions.
