Standard Chartered Reactivation Oct Credit Card Spends Promotion (“Promotion Terms and Conditions”)

Eligibility

  1. The Standard Chartered Reactivation Oct Credit Card Spends Promotion (“Promotion”) is available from 1 October 2024 to 31 October 2024 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to all principal cardholders of credit cards issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (each a “Card”, collectively “Cards”) who have received an invitation to participate in this promotion via any of the channels made available by the bank. For the purposes of the Promotion, each principal cardholder of a Card who has received such invitation shall be referred to as an “Eligible Cardholder”, and collectively such cardholders shall be referred to as the “Eligible Cardholders”. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders agree to be bound by the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  2. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Standard Chartered The Good Life® Programme.
  3. For an Eligible Cardholder to be eligible for the Promotion, his/her Card account(s) indicated in the invitation (each an “Eligible Card”) must be valid (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated, in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank” or “we”) in its sole and absolute discretion (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason)) from 1 October 2024 to 31 October 2024 (both dates inclusive).

Participation   

  1. To participate in the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder must spend on his/her Eligible Card(s) only. For the avoidance of doubt, only spends made on the Eligible Card(s) within the Promotion Period will be taken into account for the Promotion, subjected to Clause 11 below.
  2. By participating in the Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of his/her telephone number and email address to contact him/her about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by the Eligible Cardholder. Such consent will also prevail even if the Eligible Cardholder is registered or subsequently registers his/her contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.

Promotion Mechanics

  1. To qualify for the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders must, during the Promotion Period, meet the minimum spend amount on eligible transactions (as set out in Clause 7 below), aggregated across his/her Eligible Card(s) throughout the Promotion Period (“Minimum Spend”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Minimum Spend must have a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period, which are successfully posted to the Eligible Card account(s) within 3 days from the transaction date and is/are not an Excluded Transaction(s) (as set out in Clause 11 below).
  2. If an Eligible Cardholder satisfies the conditions in Clause 6 above, then he/she will be entitled to cashback according to the table below:

  1. The Cashback is non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable for cash or credit or otherwise.
  2. Cashback awarded under this Promotion will be credited to the Eligible Cardholder’s Eligible Card account by 31 December 2024.

General

  1. Eligible Cardholders who dismiss the Promotion Invitation(s), regardless of whether such dismissal is accidental or not, acknowledge that they do so at their own risk. The Bank bears no responsibility for such dismissal and holds no obligation to reinstate or re-issue the Promotion Invitation(s) to them.
  2. The following transactions charged to Eligible Card(s) will not be considered a qualifying transaction (for the purposes of the Promotion) (“Excluded Transactions”, each an “Excluded Transaction”):
    1. any cash advance;
    2. any fees or charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, service fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, finance charges, and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges);
    3. any Credit Card Funds Transfer;
    4. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
    5. any amount charged to your Credit Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
    6. recurring payments (being automatic payments where you (including your supplementary cardholder(s) on your Credit Card account) have given a one-time authorisation or instruction for the merchant to charge the payment directly to your Credit Card at a fixed interval, such as transactions made pursuant to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited’s 0% Interest Instalment Plan) or payments made to all billing organisations using Standard Chartered Online Banking or mobile app;
    7. AXS, SAM or ATM transactions made using your Credit Card;
    8. amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement;
    9. tax refunds credited into your Credit Card account;
    10. any insurance premiums charged to your Credit Card;
    11. any payments related to betting (including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at race tracks) through any channel charged to your Credit Card;
    12. any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards and any prepaid accounts including without limitation:
      1. any transaction classified under either of the following Merchant Category Codes:
        1. Financial Institutions – Merchandise, Services, and Debt Repayment (6012); or
        2. Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load (6540); and
      2. any top-ups or payment of funds to the following accounts or any other accounts as we may specify from time to time:

  1. For retail transactions charged to a Eligible Card which are successfully converted into monthly instalments, we will use the initial total amount charged, subject to Clause 6, and not the subsequent monthly instalment amount (converted monthly instalment amount) to determine if a Eligible Cardholder has met the Minimum Spend, provided such transaction is not an Excluded Transaction.
  1. For all non-Singapore dollar retail transactions charged to the Eligible Card, the transaction amount(s) posted in the Eligible Cardholder’s credit card statement (inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) will be used by the Bank to determine if the Eligible Cardholder has made the Minimum Spend, provided such transaction is not an Excluded Transaction.
  1. All eligible retail transactions must be charged and posted to the Eligible Card within 3 days from the transaction date. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of the transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.
  1. Eligible retail transactions charged to and posted to the card accounts of all supplementary cards linked to a Eligible Card will be treated as eligible retail transactions made by the principal Eligible Cardholder on the relevant principal Eligible Card for the purposes of the Promotion.
  2. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete or otherwise revise any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions or modify, terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons).
  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including the Eligible Cardholder’s eligibility for the Cashback and/or the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. In the event the Bank has determined (in the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion) that a Eligible Cardholder is not eligible to receive the Cashback or to participate in the Promotion or has irregularly or wrongly redeemed the Cashback, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Cardholder would not have been entitled to the Cashback (including but not limited to where the Eligible Transactions used to meet the Minimum Spend were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Cashback or deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Eligible Cardholder’s account(s) with the Bank.
  2. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read together with our Customer Terms, Credit Card Terms, Standard Chartered Credit Cards Spends Promotion Terms and Conditions, individual merchant and general terms for The Good Life® Programme and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms“).
  3. In the event of any inconsistency between these Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  4. A person who is not a party to the Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. The Promotion Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Promotion Terms and Conditions, shall be governed by and are to be construed in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
