Standard Chartered Complimentary Abalone Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The Standard Chartered Complimentary Abalone Promotion (the “Promotion”) is available from 7 January 2025 to 19 January 2025 (both dates included) (the “Promotion Period”).

Eligibility Criteria

  1. To qualify for the Promotion, a customer must firstly be a principal cardholder of a credit card issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (each a “Card”, collectively “Cards”), which is valid (i.e., must not be suspended, cancelled, and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited in its sole and absolute discretion during the Promotion Period.

    For the purposes of the Promotion, a customer who fulfils the above criteria shall be referred to as an “Eligible Customer”, and collectively such customers shall be referred to as the “Eligible Customers”. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Customers agree to be bound by the Promotion Terms and Conditions.

  1. The Promotion is only open to Eligible Customers who have received an invitation to participate in this promotion via any of the channels made available by the bank (including but not limited to SC Mobile push notifications and/or emails) (“Promotion Invitation”).
  1. Eligible Customers will be automatically enrolled and are not required to register for this Promotion.
  1. Eligible Customers must achieve a minimum eligible spend amount of S$388 (“Minimum Spend Criteria”). Eligible spend transactions (“Eligible Transactions”) are defined as retail transactions that:
    1. have a transaction posting date falling within the Promotion Period; and
    2. are not excluded transactions (as set out in Clause 12 below);

Promotion – Complimentary Abalone

  1. The first 500 Eligible Customers who have fulfilled Clauses 3 and 5 (“Qualified Customers”) will be entitled to a can of Starlight Australia Superior Abalone (“Complimentary Abalone”).
  2. Each Qualified Customer may redeem a maximum of one (1) can of Complimentary Abalone under this promotion. The Complimentary Abalone is non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable for cash or credit or otherwise.
  3. For the avoidance of doubt, the Bank is not an agent of Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd, the merchant providing the Complimentary Abalone. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, value, merchantability, or fitness for the purpose of the Complimentary Abalone and assume no liability or responsibility for the acts or omissions of Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd, its employees, agents and/or officers or any non-performance or defects whatsoever, whether arising from the services provided by Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd or otherwise. Any dispute about the quality, value, condition, or performance of the services received from Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd is to be resolved directly between you and Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd. The Bank is not obliged to assist or act on your behalf in communicating with Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd for any reason. You accept the Complimentary Abalone as it is and subject to any terms and conditions Chevron Singapore Pte Ltd may impose.

Fulfilment – Complimentary Abalone

  1. Qualified Customers will receive a SC Mobile push notification from the Bank informing them that they have successfully qualified for redemption of the Complimentary Abalone (“Congratulatory Message”).
  2. Qualified Customers may visit Caltex Holland at 297 Holland Road, Singapore 278629 or Caltex East Coast at 355 East Coast Road, Singapore 428972 from 21 January 2025 to 15 February 2025 (“Redemption Period”) to redeem the can of Complimentary Abalone that they are entitled to.
  3. To successfully redeem the Complimentary Abalone, Qualified Customers will be required to:
    1. Visit one of the abovementioned Caltex stations during the Redemption Period;
    2. Show the Congratulatory Message to the Caltex staff;
    3. Click on “Redeem Now”;
    4. Provide the code to the Caltex Staff; and
    5. Enter the PIN provided by the Caltex Staff

General 

  1. For the purposes of the Promotion, the following transactions charged to a Card will not be considered a qualifying transaction (“Excluded Transactions”, each an “Excluded Transaction”):
    1. Any cash advance;
    2. Any fees or charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, service fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, finance charges, and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges);
    3. Any Credit Card Funds Transfer;
    4. Any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction
    5. Any amount charged that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded, or reversed;
    6. Recurring payments (being automatic payments where the Cardholder or supplementary cardholder has given a one-time authorisation or instruction for the merchant to charge the payment directly to his/her Card at a fixed interval, such as transactions made pursuant to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited’s 0% Interest Instalment Plan) or payments made to all billing organisations using Standard Chartered Online Banking or SC Mobile app;
    7. AXS, SAM or ATM transactions made;
    8. Amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement;
    9. Tax refunds credited into the Cardholder’s Credit Card account;
    10. Any insurance premiums charged to the Cardholder’s Credit Card;
    11. Any GRAB transactions made;
    12. Any payments related to betting (including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, and wagers at racetracks through any channel charged to the Cardholder’s Credit Card;
    13. Any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid accounts including without limitation:
      1. Any transaction classified under either of the following Merchant Category
        1.  Institutions – Merchandise, Services and Debt Repayment (6012); or
        2. Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load (6540); and
      2. Any top-ups or payment of funds to the following accounts or any other accounts as we may specify from time to time:

  1. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges, or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with The Good Life® Programme (the individual merchant and general terms and conditions of which can be found here).
  1. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute the Complimentary Abalone with any item of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).
  1. For all non-Singapore Dollar Eligible Foreign Currency Transactions charged to the Eligible Card, the transaction amount(s) posted in the Eligible Customer’s credit card statement (inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) will be used by the Bank to determine if the Minimum Spend Criteria has been met.
  1. All Eligible Transactions must be charged and posted to the Card within the Promotion Period. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of the transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.
  1. Eligible Transactions charged and posted to the card account of a supplementary cardholder will be considered as an Eligible Transaction by the Principal Cardholder for the purposes of this Promotion.
  1. By participating in the Promotion, the Eligible Customer consents to the use of his/her personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of his/her telephone number and email address to contact him/her about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS, or Electronic Direct Mail.
  1. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete, or otherwise revise any of the Terms and Conditions governing this Promotion or modify, terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend, or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons).
  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion, including the Eligible Customer’s eligibility for the Complimentary Abalone and/or the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. In the event the Bank has determined (in the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion) that a Eligible Customer is not eligible to receive the Complimentary Abalone or to participate in the Promotion or has irregularly or wrongly redeemed the Complimentary Abalone, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Customer would not have been entitled to the Complimentary Abalone (including but not limited to where the Eligible Transactions used to meet the Minimum Spend Criteria were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Eligible Customer’s account(s) with the Bank.
  1. In the event of any inconsistency between these Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  1. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, will be indemnified from and against, and/or you hereby agree to release and hold the Bank and members of the Bank’s group harmless for, any expenses, costs of any kind (including legal costs), liability, loss (whether foreseeable or not), claim or damage, directly or indirectly, suffered, incurred (whether in common law or equity), arising from or in connection with your acceptance, possession, use, misuse and/or enjoyment of the Complimentary Abalone and/or this Promotion.
  1. These Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read together with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms”). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  1. A person who is not a party to these Promotion Terms and Conditions has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of these Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. These Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
