Twist & Win 2021 Promotion Terms and Conditions (“Promotion Terms and Conditions”)

Eligibility

  1. The Twist & Win 2021 Promotion (“Promotion”) is available from 3 June 2021 to 15 August 2021 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period”). The Promotion is open to all principal cardholders of credit cards issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (each a “Card”, collectively “Cards”). For the purposes of the Promotion, each principal cardholder of a Card shall be referred to as an “Eligible Cardholder”, and collectively such cardholders shall be referred to as the “Eligible Cardholders”. By participating in the Promotion, Eligible Cardholders agree to be bound by the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Standard Chartered and Caltex 2021 Promotion (the terms and conditions of which can be found here), and Standard Chartered The Good Life® Programme (the individual merchant and general terms and conditions of which can be found here).
  2. For the avoidance of doubt, for an Eligible Cardholder to be eligible for the Promotion, his/her Card account must be valid (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated, in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank” or “we”) in its sole and absolute discretion (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason)) from 3 June 2021 to 30 September 2021 (both dates inclusive).

Participation

  1. To participate in the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder must be a registered and valid user of the Standard Chartered Mobile Banking App (“SC Mobile”) and have enabled the option to receive Push Notification (as defined below) on his/her mobile phone and SC Mobile.
  1. To successfully register for the Promotion, an Eligible Cardholder must register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period, by clicking on the ‘Register Here’ button found in a push notification (which is a service provided by Apple and Google for their respective mobile operating systems i.e. iOS and Android respectively, through which an iOS or Android mobile app can send a user (who has installed such mobile app) a notification) (“Push Notification”), with the Push Notification summarising the details of the Promotion (“Promotion Invitation”). For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion Invitation will only be broadcasted from 3 June 2021 onwards, and the frequency of such broadcast will be at the Bank’s determination.
  1. Upon clicking on the ‘Register Here’ button in the Promotion Invitation, all of the Eligible Cardholder’s validly existing Card(s) (i.e. not suspended, cancelled and/or terminated) which are in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by the Bank, will be registered for the Promotion (such successfully registered card(s) hereinafter referred to as a “Registered Card” and the cardholder of such Registered Card, a “Registered Cardholder”) immediately.
  1. If the Eligible Cardholder misses the initial Push Notification, he/she may access the Promotion Invitation through the following alternatives within SC Mobile:
    1. notification inbox, or;
    2. ‘Home’ tab, provided that there have been Card transactions incurred on the Registered Card(s) in the last 7 days.
  2. The Bank will not accept any registration for the Promotion that is before and/or after the Promotion Period. All such registrations will be considered by the Bank to be invalid and/or void, and the Bank’s determination shall be final and conclusive.
  3. The speed and reliability of service of the Eligible Cardholder’s internet and/or mobile connection is dependent solely on his/her respective internet and/or mobile service providers. The Bank is not and will not be responsible or liable in any manner whatsoever for any delay or failure in the transmission, or any failure to successfully register resulting from the same. Eligible Cardholders shall be solely responsible for all fees and charges imposed by their service providers in relation to the registration for the Promotion.
  4. By registering for and participating in the Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of his/her telephone number and email address to contact him/her about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or Electronic Direct Mail. Such consent will supersede any prior choices made by the Eligible Cardholder. Such consent will also prevail even if the Eligible Cardholder is registered or subsequently registers his/her contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.

Promotion Mechanics

  1. To qualify for any Prizes (as defined in Clause 15 below), Registered Cardholders must charge a single retail transaction to a Registered Card that:
    1. is of an amount of S$150 or more;
    2. has a transaction date falling within the Promotion Period;
    3. has been successfully posted to a Registered Card account during the Promotion Period; and
    4. is not an excluded transaction (as set out in Clause 25 below);

(each single retail transaction charged by a Registered Cardholder to a Registered Card that fulfils Clauses 11(a) to (d) above shall hereinafter be referred to as a “Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction”).

  1. The first 80,000 Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions (each a “Winning Transaction”) made during the Promotion Period will each be randomly assigned a unique URL by an automated computerised system. Subject to Clause 14 below, a Push Notification containing a unique URL (“Twist & Win Push Notification”) will be sent to the Registered Cardholder’s SC Mobile notification inbox when a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction is a Winning Transaction. For the avoidance of doubt, the Twist & Win Push Notification will only be sent to the Registered Cardholders for the first 80,000 Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions and subject to Clause 14 below.
  1. For the purposes of the Promotion, amounts charged to a Card before the registration for the Promotion is successfully completed will not be considered a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction.
  1. Each Registered Cardholder is eligible for 1 Twist & Win Push Notification for every Winning Transaction made, subject to a Registered Cardholder receiving a maximum of 3 Twist & Win Push Notifications per day. If the Registered Cardholder makes more than 3 Winning Transactions in a day, the Registered Cardholder will only receive the Twist & Win Push Notifications for the first 3 of the Winning Transactions which occurred on the same day. For the avoidance of doubt, once the Bank has sent a Registered Cardholder 3 Twist & Win Push Notifications in a day, the Registered Cardholder will no longer be eligible to participate in the Promotion for any additional Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions occurring on the same day.

Registered Cardholder will be sent [3 Twist & Win Push Notification for the first 3 transactions, only if the first 3 transactions are amongst the first 80,000 Winning Transactions.

 

Registered Cardholder will not receive more than 3 Twist & Win Push Notifications per day.

Eligible Cardholder registers by clicking on the ‘Register Here’ button in the Push Notification on 3 June 2021. The Registered Cardholder makes 10 transactions of S$90 each on 3 June 2021.

 

Transactions made by the Registered Cardholder will not be considered as Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions as each transaction is less than S$150.

Prizes and Prizes Allocation

  1. The Registered Cardholder of each Winning Transaction (“Winning Cardholder”) will win one of the following prizes:
    1. S$2 cashback;
    2. S$3 cashback;
    3. S$5 cashback;
    4. S$8 cashback;
    5. S$10 cashback;
    6. S$15 cashback;
    7. S$20 cashback; or
    8. S$1,000 cashback,

(each a “Prize” and collectively, “Prizes”).

For the avoidance of doubt, if a Registered Cardholder does not receive any Twist & Win Push Notification, he/she will not be entitled to any of the Prizes above.

  1. There will be a total of 80,000 Prizes available to be won for the Promotion, in the following quantities:

The Promotion is subject and limited to the availability of the Prizes above.

  1. The Prizes allocated to the Winning Transactions will be chosen by our computer programme designed specifically for the purpose of the Promotion at 9 Changi Business Park Crescent, Standard Chartered Bank @ Changi 2, Singapore 486005. The computer programme will randomly allocate Prizes to the Winning Transactions in real time when a Winning Transaction is made.
  1. The random selection and allocation of Prizes to the respective Winning Cardholders of the Winning Transaction will be verified by external auditors. We reserve the discretion to change any of the Prize allocation mechanics without giving prior notice or reason. We may appoint any party as we deem fit as an external auditor for the Prize allocation.
  1. Each Prize will be credited to the relevant Winning Cardholder’s Registered Card account used to charge the corresponding Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction by 30 September 2021. SMSes will be sent to the relevant Winning Cardholder’s mobile number that has been registered with the Bank to inform him/her that the Prize has been credited to his/her Registered Card account. The details of the Prize amount will be reflected in the Winning Cardholder’s next Credit Card Statement of Account from 30 September 2021.

General

  1. The Prizes awarded under the Promotion are strictly non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or credit or otherwise.
  2. No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any lost, misplaced or stolen Prizes.
  3. The Bank reserves the right to replace or substitute any Prize with any item of equivalent or similar value, without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reason).
  4. Eligible Cardholders and/or Registered Cardholders who dismiss the Promotion Invitation(s) and/or Twist & Win Push Notification(s), regardless of whether such dismissal is accidental or not, acknowledge that they do so at their own risk. The Bank bears no responsibility for such dismissal and holds no obligation to reinstate or re-issue the Promotion Invitation(s) and/or Twist & Win Push Notification(s),to them.
  1. In the event that the Registered Cardholder terminates his/her banking relationship with the Bank within 6 months of the expiry of the Promotion Period, the Bank further reserves the right to recover the whole or any part of the Prize given to him/her under this Promotion. At the time of crediting of the Prize, the relevant Registered Card account must be valid (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated, in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as determined by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion), failing which, the Prize will be forfeited and the Bank shall also be entitled to recover the whole or any part of the Prize (or such equivalent value) given to him/her.
  1. The following transactions charged to a Registered Card will not be considered a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction (for the purposes of the Promotion):
    1. Insurance premiums, including premiums for investment-linked policies;
    2. Any transactions or bill payments to telecommunications and utilities providers including but not limited to Starhub, Singtel, M1, and Singapore Power;
    3. Any payment via AXS network;
    4. Any payment via SAM network;
    5. Payments to government agencies which include but are not limited to Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, Public Utilities Board, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Ministry of Manpower;
    6. Income tax payments;
    7. Any bill payment made using the SC EasyBill bill payment programme;
    8. Any top-ups or payment of funds to any prepaid cards (with the exception of EZ-Reload), prepaid accounts, digital wallets including but not limited to Grab, Singtel Dash, WorldRemit Singapore, YouTrip or any other accounts as the Bank may specify from time to time
    9. Any top-ups or payment of funds which are classified under Merchant Category Codes 6012 (Financial Institutions – Merchandise, Services, and Debt Repayment) and/or 6540 (or Non-Financial Institutions – Stored Value Card Purchase/Load);
    10. EZ-Link cards transactions;
    11. TransitLink transactions;
    12. Any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers), 7995 (Gambling/Lotto) and 6051 (Non-Financial Institutions – Foreign Currency, Non-Fiat Currency (for example: Cryptocurrency), Travelers Cheques, and Debt Repayment);
    13. Balance transfers (or funds transfers), instalment loans and cash advances, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;
    14. Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to any of the Bank issued credit cards of the Registered Cardholder;
    15. Any amount charged to the any of the Bank issued credit cards of the Registered Cardholder during the Promotion Period that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
    16. Balance owing on the Registered Cardholder’s credit card accounts from other months.
  2. For retail transactions charged during the Promotion Period to a Registered Card which are successfully converted into monthly instalments:
    1. at the point of sale by tie up merchants, the monthly instalment amount (and not the total amount charged for that transaction); or
    2. at a later date, the total amount charged (and not the converted monthly instalment amount),

will be used by the Bank to determine if Registered Cardholder has made a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction under the Promotion, provided such transaction does not fall within any of the exclusions set out in Clause 25 above.

  1. For all non-Singapore dollar Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions charged to the Registered Card, the transaction amount(s) posted in the Registered Cardholder’s credit card statement (inclusive of the exchange rate conversion and commission, if any) will be used by the Bank to determine if the Registered Cardholder has made a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction.
  1. All Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions must be charged and posted to the Registered Card within the Promotion Period. We are not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of the transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.
  1. Twist & Win Qualifying Transactions charged to and posted to the card accounts of all supplementary cards linked to a Registered Card will be treated as a Twist & Win Qualifying Transaction made by the principal Registered Cardholder on the relevant principal Registered Card for the purposes of the Promotion.
  2. The Bank may vary, modify, add, delete or otherwise revise any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions or modify, terminate, withdraw, extend, suspend or shorten the Promotion at any time at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason (and the Bank shall not be obliged to disclose its reasons).
  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to the Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. Without prejudice to Clause 31, in the event the Bank has determined (in the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion) that a Registered Cardholder is not eligible to receive the Prize or to participate in the Promotion or has irregularly or wrongly redeemed the Prize, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Registered Cardholder would not have been entitled to redeem the Prize (including but not limited to where the charges used to meet the relevant minimum spend(s) were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Prize or to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Registered Cardholder’s account(s) with the Bank.
  2. In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, the Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank and members of the Bank’s group shall have no liability in respect of, will be indemnified from and against, and/or you hereby agree to release and hold the Bank and members of the Bank’s group harmless for, any expenses, costs of any kind (including legal costs), liability, loss (whether foreseeable or not), claim or damage, directly or indirectly, suffered, incurred (whether in common law or equity), arising from or in connection with your acceptance, possession, use, misuse and/or enjoyment of the Prize and/or this Promotion.
  4. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read together with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms“). In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and the Other Terms, the Promotion Terms & Conditions will prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  5. A person who is not a party to the Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. The Promotion Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with the Promotion Terms and Conditions, shall be governed by and are to be construed in accordance with, the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
