Diplomatic Account

This is an account that has been designed for the employees of the diplomatic agencies in Uganda. It is a current account (Product Code 010), offered in Uganda shillings (UGX) and United States Dollars (USD). It can be opened for individuals in the Personal and Priority Banking Segments

No. The only charges are a one-off card issuance/replacement fees as below;
– VISA Gold card – UG 15,000
– VISA Platinum card – UG 25,000
– VISA Infinite card (For Priority Segment) – UG 50,000
Otherwise, Zero Monthly Ledger Fees, Zero Transactional fees and No minimum balance Required
The Account Opening Balance of UG 100,000 or USD 100

This account is available to staff of select UN Agencies, Embassies and some Africa government parastatals operating in Uganda. For now, the list of Agencies that qualify are as below. Additional agencies will be advised in due course.

Apart from the normal account opening requirements of Proof of name, nationality and date of birth: By either a national Identification for Uganda nationals or valid passport for non Ugandans, It is opened digitally and requires provision of one coloured passport photo (selfie) , Proof of residence: By either national ID or a recent telephone/water/electricity/DSTV bill, a letter of reference from one’s employer or tenancy agreement, and acknowledged Key Facts Document
