APP reimbursement policy

Financial protection is an important right, one we should all have, and the implementation of the Authorised Push Payment (APP) scam reimbursement policy aims to protect victims who have suffered financial loss and can expect their bank to act in a consistent manner. APP scams happen when someone is tricked into sending money to a fraudster posing as a genuine payee.

All Payment Service Providers (PSPs) in the UK, including Standard Chartered, have been directed by the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR) to implement the APP reimbursement policy which addresses APP fraud within the Faster Payment System (FPS) and CHAPS. Standard Chartered is committed to playing its part in the fight against fraud and is introducing the policy on 7 October 2024, the industry-wide launch date.

If you need to raise an issue on a payment made to a UK account held with Standard Chartered, you should raise this with your bank.

If you do bank with us and you need to raise an issue with a payment made, you should raise this with your Relationship Manager and/or Client Service Team (Straight2bank.Uk@sc.com).
