Standard Chartered appoints João Galvão as Regional Head, Trade Sales, Americas, Transaction Banking
on November 23, 2022New York, November 23, 2022 – Standard Chartered Bank today announced the hiring of João Galvão as Head of Trade Sales, Transaction Banking, Americas. In this role, João is responsible for leading a team of experienced sales specialists to advise on trade and working capital needs of the Bank’s clients and drive the growth strategy of the Trade Finance business in the Americas.
Based in New York, João will report to Bharat Padmanabhan, Global Head, Transaction Banking Sales, with regional reporting to Steven Cranwell, CEO, Americas and Regional Head, Client Coverage, Americas.

João was most recently a Managing Director, Head of Trade Finance Structuring, Americas at Deutsche Bank AG. He has 25 years of financial services experience and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), São Paulo in Brazil.
