Interbank Account Data Sharing (“IADS”)
IADS is an initiative introduced by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to allow the sharing of account data between banks with your consent. Open API is an innovative technical solution to enable secure and efficient exchange of product information or account data between us and our third-party service providers (TSPs). We use Open API to provide more seamless and personalised banking experience and offerings.

Open Banking refers to the use of Open Application Programming Interface (Open API) for secure and fast exchange of product information and account data between Standard Chartered and Third-party Service Providers (TSPs) or other partner banks.

It allows the bank to continuously uplift the customer experience and provide more personalised services to you.

“Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS) is an initiative introduced by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). It allows the participating banks to share your bank account data securely and efficiently subject to your consent. Such data sharing will facilitate the banks to enhance the customer experience and provide you with more personalised services.

In order to use this service, you need to:

  • Register for Standard Chartered’s SC Mobile App; and
  • Hold at least one deposit account with Standard Chartered and the bank you would like to connect with

Please refer to HKMA website for the latest list of IADS participating banks.

With your consent, the following deposit account data will be shared between Standard Chartered and the selected bank:

  1. Account availability
  2. Account status
  3. Account balances
  4. Account transactions

The standard consent period is one year. It will be reviewed from time to time subject to HKMA’s latest guideline.

This service is free of charge from Standard Chartered currently. It will be reviewed from time to time subject to HKMA’s latest guideline.

The data is protected through encryption during transmission. Any sensitive information such as account number is masked for data protection.

Your account data shared from the selected bank will be used for the following purposes:

  • Offer you an aggregate view of cross-bank accounts on SC Mobile App
  • Provide you with more personalised product offer and services

When granting consent, you will be given the option to indicate whether you allow us to use the shared data for direct marketing. Standard Chartered will follow your indication for data usage.

You may refer to the following steps to connect your accounts in other bank with Standard Chartered:

  1. Log in to SC Mobile App
  2. Tab “Services” on the bottom menu
  3. Go to “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent”
  4. Click “Connect More Accounts”
  5. Select the bank for connection
  6. You will be redirected to the interface of your selected bank to select the accounts for connection
  7. Complete – You will return to Standard Chartered’s interface!

You may refer to the following steps to check your connected accounts and their balances on SC Mobile App:

  1. Log in to SC Mobile App
  2. Tab “Service” on the bottom menu
  3. Go to “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent”
  4. Connected cross-bank accounts and balances at a glance

You may refer to the following steps to disconnect your accounts and stop data sharing:

  1. Log in to SC Mobile App
  2. Tab “Service” on the bottom menu
  3. Go to “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent”
  4. Select the bank for disconnect
  5. Click “Revoke consent” button
  6. Review the details and confirm revoking consent
  7. Complete – Data sharing will be stopped instantly

You can log in SC Mobile App and visit “Services” > “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent” page to revoke the existing consent and re-connect with your preferred selection of accounts.

You can log in SC Mobile App and visit “Services” > “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent” page to connect cross-bank accounts again.

The connected accounts and balances will be shown in “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent” page on SC Mobile App instantly after successful consent creation.

No, Standard Chartered will never know your login credential in other banks.

We will only share your account data to your selected banks within the consent period. You can always revoke the consents to stop data sharing instantly by visiting “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent” page on SC Mobile App.

You will receive email and push notifications after granting / revoking a consent successfully. You can also review any active consents by visiting “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent” page on SC Mobile App.

Please reach out to your selected banks for further information. You are encouraged to understand how your data is being used before providing the consent.

You may refer to the following steps to provide consent for data sharing to other bank:

  1. Request consent from the online banking of other bank
  2. You will be redirected to Standard Chartered’s interface to complete the consent
  3. Log in Standard Chartered’s interface with your login credentials
  4. Review the type of account data which will be shared
  5. Select the accounts for data sharing
  6. Review the selected accounts
  7. Complete – You will be redirected back to the online banking of your consented bank

You may refer to the following steps to review any active consents for data sharing:

SC Mobile App

  1. Log in to SC Mobile App
  2. Tab “Service” on the bottom menu
  3. Go to “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent”
  4. Select “Data Shared With Other Banks” to review the active consents

Online Banking

  1. Log in to our desktop Online Banking
  2. Click “Update Client Information” on the side menu
  3. Select the tab “Open Banking”
  4. Review all active consents under the “MY CONSENTS” tab

You may refer to the following steps to revoke any active consents for data sharing:

SC Mobile App

  1. Log in to SC Mobile App
  2. Tab “Service” on the bottom menu
  3. Select “Open Banking” > “View and Manage Consent”
  4. Select “Manage” > “Data Shared With Other Banks”
  5. Review all active consents under the “MY CONSENTS” tab
  6. Click “View details” to view the consented accounts
  7. Click “Remove Permission” to confirm revoking

Online Banking

  1. Log in to Online Banking
  2. Click “Update Client Information” on the side menu
  3. Select the tab “Open Banking”
  4. Review all active consents under the “MY CONSENTS” tab
  5. Click “View details” to view the consented accounts
  6. Click “Remove Permission” to confirm revoking
