With effect from 1 December 2024, Paper Statement Fee (HK$10 per month) will be introduced to each customer who receives any of the following paper statement(s).
Mortgage Statement, Investment related Statement e.g. Securities and Other Statements are not in scope.
Notice of Change in Service Charges in relation to Paper Statement Fee
The Paper Statement Fee is HK$10 monthly (per eligible customers) and will be debited in relevant account monthly starting from January 2025 if you continue to receive paper statement from 1 December 2024 onwards.
With the increasing trend of digitalization, customers can view their statements conveniently via desktop/laptop computer. To help drive the reduction of paper consumption, we are imposing the Paper Statement Fee to encourage clients to switch to e-Statement.
The relevant accounts will be charged.
You can avoid the Paper Statement Fee by simply enrolling in the eStatement service by log in to our online banking service before 1 July 2019. You will be able to view, download and print out of last 12 months via Standard Chartered Online Banking at any time you need them.

The fee will be waived for below customers:
Recipients of government disability allowances, allowance for elderlies, or Comprehensive Social Security Assistance through SCB banking accounts.
You can request for fee wavier by providing your Disability Allowance, Old Age Allowance or Social Security Allowance supporting documents at the branch. You may also contact our customer service hotline to learn more about this arrangement. The bank will waive the Fee starting from next month once the submitted documents has been verified.
No. Exemptions will be applied to clients who reach 65 during the calendar year. Since you will be aged 65 in 2019, you will be exempted from the fee.
Yes, you will be charged the Paper Statement Fee, but not on a pro-rata basis. Since you have already received a paper statement in December 2024, the full Paper Statement fee of HK$10 will be debited from your relevant account in January 2025 . Customers are recommended to enroll in the eStatement service as soon as possible to enjoy the hassle-free benefits of managing e-Statements online for free.
Existing customers will be notified by the Notice of change in relation to paper statement fee in March, 2019. The Paper Statement Fee will be directly debited from the relevant account. Such transactions will be reflected on the statement, and no separate notice will be sent.
Yes. You could request for a with a statement retrieval fee charged. For details, please refer to the statement retrieval fee in the service charge booklet.
Yes. The Paper Statement Fee will be applied to credit card statements. From December 2024 onwards, if you will receive a credit card paper statement, you will still be subject to a paper statement fee of HK$10 for your credit card statement each month.
For joint accounts, the charge will be exempted only if the primary account holder is eligible for the exemption. If your wife is the primary account holder of this joint account, the account will be exempted from the Paper Statement Fee.
You will be charged HK$10 on the Paper Statement Fee monthly.
Yes. You will still need to pay the paper statement fee if you receive any of the eligible statement(s) in Q1.
No. The paper statement fee will be applied to principal cardholder only.
Yes. The charge will be exempted only if the principal cardholder is eligible for the exemption. As your wife is not principal card holder, the account will be exempted from the Paper Statement Fee.
No. You will not be charged.
