Stay Home Spin and Win Campaign 2020 Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The Stay Home Spin and Win Campaign 2020 Promotion (“Promotion“) is available from 29 May 2020 to the earlier of (a) 25 October 2020 or (b) such time when the first 14,300 Winning Transactions (as defined below) have been completed (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period“) and is organised by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank” or “Standard Chartered” or “we”). By participating in the Promotion, Participants (as defined below) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. Unless otherwise stated, the Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions.

Participation

  1. To participate in the Promotion, you must be at least 18 years old and you must send an SMS in the format set out in Clause 5 below (“SMS Registration“) during the Promotion Period to the Bank. Such a successfully registered participant will hereinafter be referred to as a “Participant”.
  2. The Promotion is limited to the first 100,000 successful SMS Registrations. The Bank will not accept any:
    1. attempts to register before and/or after the Promotion Period;
    2. registrations after the first 100,000 successful SMS Registrations; and
    3. registrations that are not in the prescribed format (as set out below).

All such registrations (as set out in Clause 4(a), (b) and (c) above) will be considered by the Bank to be invalid and/or void, and the Bank’s determination shall be final and conclusive in this regard.

  1. For SMS Registrations, all SMSes must be composed in the following format:

    “SC<space>8-digit Mobile Number”
    (Example: SC 88888888)
    The composed SMS must be sent to 77222. All SMS Registrations which are not in this prescribed format will not be accepted and will be considered by the Bank to be invalid and/or void, and the Bank’s determination shall be final and conclusive in this regard.

  1. An acknowledgement of successful SMS Registration will be sent to the mobile number which the Participant had used for his/her SMS Registration. Such acknowledgement shall be sent as an SMS and shall be referred to as the “Acknowledgement SMS”.
  2. The table below illustrates the corresponding dates Participants will qualify for the Promotion depending on the respective days/times that their SMS Registrations are received by the Bank:

Where a person submits an SMS Registration for the Promotion before the start of the Promotion Period i.e. before 29 May 2020 Such person will not be eligible for the Promotion.
For SMS Registrations the Bank receives between 29 May 2020 12:00 am and 25 October 2020 11:59 pm Subject to Clause 8, Participants will be eligible for the Promotion once they receive the Acknowledgement SMS.
For SMS Registrations the Bank receives after the end of the Promotion Period i.e. after 25 October2020 Such persons will not be eligible for the Promotion.
  1. It is the Participant’s responsibility to ensure that the correct mobile number is submitted in the SMS Registration. For Participants who are existing customers of the Bank at the time of submitting the SMS Registration, the mobile number submitted must match the mobile number in the Bank’s records. If a Participant is not a customer of the Bank at the time of submitting the SMS Registration, he/she can still successfully register for the Promotion if he/she meets the relevant conditions above. In addition, such a Participant will need to ensure that he/she subsequently provides the same mobile number (which he/she has used for SMS Registration) to the Bank (if requested by the Bank) when he/she performs a Qualifying Activity.
    If any Participant (whether existing customer or not) fails to comply with the abovementioned, he/she shall be disqualified for the purposes of the Promotion, notwithstanding the fact that he/she might have received the Acknowledgement SMS.
  1. The speed and reliability of service of the Participant’s internet and/or mobile connection is dependent solely on his/her respective internet and/or mobile service providers. The Bank is not responsible or liable in any manner whatsoever for any delay or failure in the transmission or receipt of any SMS Registration or Acknowledgment SMS (as the case may be), or any failure to register resulting from the same. Participants shall be solely responsible for all fees and charges imposed by their service providers in the SMS Registration.
  2. By registering for the Promotion and participating in the Promotion, the Participant consents to the collection, use and/or disclosure of his/her personal data for purposes which are reasonably necessary for the Promotion, including the use of the Participant’s personal data to contact and provide updates to him/her on the Promotion, in line with the Bank’s privacy statement available at https://www.sc.com/sg/privacy/.

Promotion Mechanics

  1. To win a Prize, Participants must, during the Promotion Period and after they have been sent the Acknowledgement SMS, successfully perform any of the following activities online (each, a “Qualifying Activity”):
    1. enable the multi-currency feature for their Bonus$aver account and fund their foreign currency balance in that account with a minimum amount of one or more of the following currencies during the Promotion Period:

    4. register for PayNow with a Standard Chartered bank account and make a PayNow transfer;
    5. perform a transaction through SC Remit;
    6. apply and receive approval for Standard Chartered Credit Card Funds Transfer;
    7. apply and receive approval for any Standard Chartered credit card and make at least one spend transaction on that credit card;
    8. successfully open a Bonus$aver account and fund the Singapore Dollar (SGD) denominated currency balance;
    9. apply and receive approval for Standard Chartered CashOne Personal Loan; and/or
    10. apply and receive approval for any Standard Chartered time deposit.

For the avoidance of doubt, for the purposes of Clauses 11(b), (e), (f), (g), (h) and (i) above, if a Participant has received the Bank’s approval for the relevant product, service or transaction but subsequently cancels, terminates or reverses the product, service or transaction (as the case may be) during the Promotion Period, such Qualifying Activity shall no longer be regarded as a “Winning Transaction” (as defined below). Notwithstanding that the Participant may have received the Winning Transaction SMS, the Bank shall be entitled to exercise its rights under Clause 28 below to deduct the Participant’s Digital Score accordingly and/or to claw back the value of any Prize that has been claimed or redeemed by the Participant.

  1. Each of the first 14,300 Qualifying Activities performed during the Promotion Period and which does not fall foul of Clause 14 below (each such Qualifying Activity to be referred to as a “Winning Transaction”) will be randomly assigned a unique URL sent via a SMS by an automated computerised system. Each such SMS containing a unique URL shall be referred to as the “Winning Transaction SMS”. For the avoidance of doubt, the Promotion is limited to the first 14,300 Winning Transactions only and the Winning Transaction SMSes will only be sent to the Participants of the first 14,300 Qualifying Activities.
  1. Each Qualifying Activity as set out in Clause 11 above will have a certain number of points (“Digital Score”) assigned to it as follows:

Each Participant’s Digital Score is updated fortnightly on a Sunday, at 11:59 pm during the Promotion Period. Subject to Clause 14 below, Participants will receive a Winning Transaction SMS within 14 working days (of the day the Digital Score is updated) informing them of their updated Digital Score, along with a link to play the Stay Home Spin and Win Game.
As an illustration, if a Participant successfully registers for the Promotion on 05 June 2020 (Friday), his/her Digital Score will first be updated at 11.59 pm on 1 June 2020 (Sunday) and he/she will receive a Winning Transaction SMS before 28 June  2020 informing him/her of his/her updated Digital Score along with a link to play the Stay Home Spin and Win Game.

  1. Each Participant is eligible for one (1) unique URL sent via one (1) Winning Transaction SMS every 14 working days after the Digital Score has been refreshed, subject to the following:
    1. after receiving the Acknowledgement SMS, a Participant must complete at least one Qualifying Activity in each calendar week (i.e. Monday to Sunday) and must have increased his/her Digital Score each calendar week (i.e. Monday to Sunday);
    2. a Participant will only be awarded a Digital Score a maximum of once for each Qualifying Activity type every calendar week (i.e. Monday to Sunday) during the Promotion Period. As an illustration, notwithstanding the number of SC Remit transactions made by a Participant in a calendar week, the Participant will only be awarded 5 points once for the “SC Remit” category (as referred to in Clause 11(d) above) in the relevant week;
    3. any of the activities as set out in Clause 11 performed before a Participant receives the Acknowledgement SMS will not be considered as a Qualifying Activity; and
    4. a Participant’s Digital Score is accumulated throughout the Promotion Period, notwithstanding whether the Participant chooses to play the Stay Home Spin and Win However, as mentioned above, a Participant’s Digital Score has to be higher than the previous calendar week’s Digital Score in order for the Participant to be sent the Winning Transaction SMS.

As an illustration:

Scenarios Eligibility and Qualification
Participant has completed at least one Qualifying Activity in the calendar week  and has increased his/her Digital Score in the calendar week . Participant will be sent a Winning Transaction SMS only if the Qualifying Activity is amongst the first 14,300.
Participant has not increased his/her Digital Score for each relevant calendar week  in the month. Participant will not be sent any Winning Transaction SMS for the relevant calendar week as Participant’s Digital Score has not increased in each relevant calendar week.
Participant has done the same Qualifying Activity more than once in a week. Participant will only receive the Digital Score for each type of Qualifying Activity a maximum of once per week.
Participant has completed an activity which falls within Clause 11 before receiving the Acknowledgement SMS. Such activity will not be considered as a Qualifying Activity as it was performed before the Participant had received the Acknowledgement SMS.
  1. We reserve the right to determine at our sole and absolute discretion the following:
    1. whether a Participant is to be or has been registered for the Promotion;
    2. whether a Participant has performed a Qualifying Activity, including whether such Qualifying Activity was performed after successful registration (and the Bank shall have the right to rely on the timestamp of the Acknowledgement SMS in its records, and take into consideration such other matters as it may choose to); and
    3. whether a Participant has met all the conditions of the Promotion.

Prizes and Prize Allocation

  1. To win a Prize, Participants are to play the Stay Home Spin and Win Game by clicking on the unique URL stated in the Winning Transaction SMS. Depending on the total Digital Score, the Participants will be eligible to win a GrabFood Voucher (each, a “Prize”) in accordance with the table as set out below:

  1. There will be a total of 14,300 Prizes available to be won for the Promotion, in the following quantities:

  1. The Prizes allocated to the Winning Transactions will be chosen by our computer programme designed specifically for the purpose of the Promotion at 9 Changi Business Park Crescent, Standard Chartered Bank @ Changi 2, Singapore 486005. The computer programme will randomly allocate Prizes to Winning Transactions in real time when a Winning Transaction is made.
  1. The random selection and allocation of Prizes to the respective Participant of the Winning Transactions will be verified by external auditors. We reserve the discretion to change any of the Prize allocation mechanics without giving prior notice or reason. We may appoint any party as we deem fit as an external auditor for the Prize allocation.
  1. The Prizes are not exchangeable for cash or any other items, and are non-transferable and non-assignable.
  1. All Prizes (in the form of GrabFood Vouchers) will be sent to the relevant Participant’s registered email address with the Bank by 31 October 2020.
  1. Each Prize is issued subject to any terms and conditions that the merchant may impose. Please refer to https://grabshop.sg/pages/terms-conditions-of-sale for the relevant information. Any Prize that is not utilized by the expiry date stipulated on the Prize by the merchant will be forfeited.

General

  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion. The Bank’s determination of all matters arising out of or in connection with the Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. The Bank’s Online Banking and Mobile Banking services are dependent on the infrastructure, connectivity and services provided by service providers engaged by the Bank or the Participants. The Bank does not represent or warrant that its Online Banking and Mobile Banking services will be accessible at all times (due to regular maintenance, servicing or any other reason).
  1. Except for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the Bank, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Bank shall have no liability in respect of, and will be indemnified from and against, any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of a Participant’s acts or omissions (including, but not limited to, his/her participation in the Promotion and redemption or use of the Prize).
  1. The Prize is provided by third party merchants. The Bank is not an agent of the merchants supplying the Prize. The Bank makes no warranty or representation as to the quality, value, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the Prize and assumes no liability or responsibility for the acts or omissions of the merchants or any non-performance or defects in the Prize. Any dispute about the quality, value, condition or performance of the Prize is to be resolved by the Participant directly with the merchants. The Bank is not obliged to assist or act on a Participant’s behalf in communicating with the merchants supplying the Prize for any reason. Participants accept the Prize as it is and subject to any terms and conditions the merchants may impose. No payment or compensation whether in cash, credit or kind shall be made for any uncollected, forfeited, lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged Prize.
  1. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice or reason:
    1. terminate, withdraw, shorten or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion; and/or
    2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion; and/or
    3. substitute or replace the Prize with any other item (which may or may not be of equivalent or similar value).

Each Participant agrees and consents to be bound by any such variation.

  1. In the event the Bank has determined that a Participant is not eligible to receive the Prize or to participate in the Promotion, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Participant would not have been entitled to redeem the Prize, the Bank reserves the right to claw back the Prize or to deduct its value (or such other amount as it deems fit) from the Participant’s account(s) with the Bank.
  1. In the event of any inconsistency between the Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  2. Please read these terms and conditions together with our Customer Terms and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the Promotion (collectively “Other Terms“). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. A person who is not a party to these Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  1. The Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
