FAQs

  • • You will receive sms notification of your cover and a policy schedule will be sent to you not later than 30 days from the date you receive the sms notification.
    • The Insurance certificate can be collected from the selected Standard Chartered Branch. The client will be required to provide a valid identification card when collecting the certificate.

  • You can collect your insurance certificate from the standard chartered branch you select.You will be required to provide your policy number to enable issuance.Your policy number will be sent to you( via email and SMS).

  • Visit your nearest Sanlam/Standard Chartered branch with the following documents
    1. Police Abstract
    2. Copy of driver’s licence
    3. Executed Claim Form to be provided from any of our Standard Chartered branches/Sanlam Offices

  • Any Standard Chartered Bank individual current account holder.

  • It covers:
    • Damage to insured vehicle.
    • Third party bodily or property liability.
    • Passenger liability

  • • In the event the motor vehicle is involved in an accident, the insured(vehicle owner) will not be liable to pay any amount of excess that is applicable in respect of accidental own damage claim but subject to the claim amount being above payable minimum excess.
    • The benefit ceases once claimed but can be reinstated by paying a charge of 0.25% of the vehicle value Minimum KShs 2,000

  • This is a motor benefit where you get a courtesy car to use for a maximum of 27 days. This benefit is only applicable once the claim has been lodged and accepted by the insurance company. This benefit ceases once utilized but can be reinstated at an additional premium.

  • Yes but only under the Comprehensive Option.

  • The acceptable modes of payment are online transfers from your SCB current account,credit card  payment and standing order(as 2nd payment if instalment option is selected)

  • Yes but limited to 2 instalments from your SCB current account.The payment of the 1st Instalment would be 30% approximate of the premium and 2nd instalment would be for the remaining 70% approximate

  • Premium payable(Clients) would be based on basic rate applied on the vehicle sum insured (For Comprehensive (4.25% of Sum Insured for units below KES 2.5Million and 3.5% for units above Kes 2.5Million, Minimum KES 37,500 plus AA Fee of KES 6,500 and Courtesy Car Benefit at KES 8,100) and Third Party Fire and Theft (2.125%of Sum Insured, Minimum KES7,500). Levies (0.45% of basic premium) and stamp duty(KES 40) would then be added. Third Party only is charged at a basic premium of KES 7,500 and levies and stamp duty would then be added.
