  • SC JUZA is a Mobile App that allows Kenyan citizens residing in Kenya to access loans of up to Ksh.100,000 in a fast and convenient manner at any time and from anywhere in Kenya. We offer a simple registration and loan application process with loans for successful applicants being disbursed into their MPESA mobile money wallets within minutes.

  • At Standard Chartered Bank Head Office, Off Westlands Road, Nairobi, Kenya. However, all SC Juza clients will be
    supported via chat service from 8am-9pm during the weekdays and 9am-3pm over the weekends and public holidays.

  • To register you on SC JUZA, we require your personal details and Safaricom mobile number. Currently the app only
    supports Safaricom subscribers registered for the MPESA service. During registration you will be required to provide
    your country of residence, employment status and respond to 3 security questions of your choice.

  • This service is available to all Kenyan citizens who reside in Kenya.

  • No, you can only register one mobile number with your Kenyan National ID at a time.

  • SC JUZA requires your employment status to adequately understand your financial needs.

  • Security questions help clients to self-reset the log in PIN in the event they forget. Additionally, the 3 security questions give clients option to respond to the question they can easily recall the answer in case they forget the answer to any of the other 2 questions.

  • No, you’ll only respond to one security question for which you can recall the answer.

  • To qualify for a loan, you need to be a registered Safaricom customer with an active M-PESA service for more than 6 months and must be aged between 21 and 65 years.

  • SC Juza App is supported on Android Version 7 and above i.e., Android version 7 to 14.

  • Here are a few points that could be affecting users access and some potential solutions:

    • Account Location Settings: If your Google account is set to a country (App only available to Kenyan citizens
      resident in Kenya) where our App is restricted, this can prevent you from downloading or accessing it. This
      often depends on the country information provided during your account setup or billing address.
    • Payment Methods: Some Apps have regional restrictions based on licensing agreements. If your Google
      account’s payment methods are linked to a restricted country, your access could be affected.
    • Content Restrictions: Google applies content restrictions based on your account’s country settings. This can limit access to certain Apps or services not permitted in specific regions.
    • VPN and IP Address: Even if your Google account is set to a country where the app is allowed (Kenya),
      using a VPN that routes your connection through a restricted country can block access. Google may detect
      and restrict access based on your current IP address.

    To help resolve these issues, please try the following:

    • Change Account Country: Update the country settings in your Google account to Kenya. This might require
      setting up a new payment profile linked to a valid address in the desired (Kenya) country. You can find
      instructions on how to do this in Google’s help centre.
    • Use VPNs Smartly: Ensure your VPN routes your connection through a country (Kenya) where the app is
      accessible, rather than a restricted one.
    • Adjust Payment Methods: Update your payment methods to those valid in the country (Kenya) where the
      app is available. This might involve adding a new payment method linked to a valid address in the desired
      country.

    Please note that frequent changes to account settings or using certain VPNs could lead to account issues or temporary restrictions according to Google’s policies.

  • SC Juza collects information on device location to determine your current or past location; hence we are unable
    to collect accurate information with VPN connection.

  • Please clear the App cache/browser history and retry. If the issue persists, then try updating your Android phone’s
    Operating System and Security Updates. Please note that some un-updated devices restrict access to crucial device details like location necessary for SC Juza registration.

    • Download and install SC Juza mobile App from Google play store. Upon installation, start the registration
      process by providing all the required information. If registration is successful, log into the app to view the
      approved loan limit.
    • Enter the loan amount you would like to borrow and confirm. You will then view a breakdown of the confirmed
      loan amount i.e., processing fee, excise duty fee, service fee, interest rate and the total amount due for
      repayment on day 61.
    • Read and accept the terms and conditions.
    • Click on Apply Loan.
    • Your loan application will be evaluated in real time and once approved, you will receive money on your MPESA mobile wallet.
  • The process is simple and takes only a few minutes if you provide all the required information.

    • A negative listing on the Credit Reference Bureau for outstanding loans.
    • Failure to provide the required information.
    • Having an existing SC JUZA loan.
    • Any other reason at the discretion of the Bank.

  • SC JUZA uses advanced data security and encryption models to ensure that your data is protected. We will not disclose your personal data to third parties unless it is for dedicated business purposes as per the privacy policy, such
    as reporting defaulted loans to authorised credit reference bureaus.

  • On the menu;

    • Go to Change PIN
    • Enter your current PIN
    • Enter your new PIN
    • Confirm the PIN
  • On the log in screen;

    • Select forgot PIN
    • Answer one security question
    • Reset your PIN and verify
    • Log into the app using your new PIN
  • The security questions are required to self-reset your log in PIN.

    • Log into SC Juza App.
    • Select Make Payment at the bottom of the home screen.
    • Select Full Payment
    • The amount due will be displayed automatically.
    • Select Pay. This will redirect you to your M-PESA STK
    • Push to input your M-PESA secret PIN to complete
      the payment.
  • This is the MPESA popup on your cell phone requesting you to input your MPESA secret PIN in order to complete payment from your MPESA wallet to SC Juza.

    • Log into SC Juza App.
    • Select Make Payment at the bottom of the home screen.
    • Select Partial Payment and enter the amount you would like to pay.
    • Select Pay. This will redirect you to your M-PESA STK Push to input your M-PESA secret PIN in order to
      complete the payment.
  • On the SC Juza mobile app, go to the home page, your loan balance will be displayed.

  • The payment transaction will be processed on a real-time basis. You will receive an SMS notification on the M-PESA transaction and another SC Juza SMS notification to confirm the payment.

  • No, you can only make a loan payment for your account.

  • Early loan repayment is accepted, you will be charged interest only for the days the loan was outstanding.

  • The normal M-PESA charges apply.

  • You can take a loan immediately after making a payment and clearing the existing loan.

  • Borrowing and making timely repayments, increase your chances of getting a higher limit.

  • The top security tips

    • Be wary that a “jailbroken” device will weaken the security of your mobile device. Never use a jailbroken device for SC Juza app.
    • Keep your mobile number used for SC Juza registration safe. Don’t share your personal details like ID (National Identification) number with anyone.
    • Standard Chartered Bank will never ask for your SC Juza OTP (One-Time PIN), Secret Login PIN, Security Question Answers or Loan Application Details. Do not share with anyone on call or SMS under any circumstance whatsoever.
    • Always log out and never leave the SC Juza application running in the background.
    • Contact Standard Chartered Bank immediately via the Chatbot on your SC Juza mobile application in case of suspicious activity.
    • Do not store your PIN or Security Question Answers in written accessible text on your mobile device or any other place.
    • Don’t leave your mobile device unattended while you have your SC Juza application open.
    • Ensure that your mobile device is updated with the latest version of the operating system at all times
    • Install antivirus software on your mobile device and scan your device regularly.
    • Enable the lock screen on your phone to secure access.
    • If your mobile device is stolen, remember to unlink the SC Juza application from your device
